I admit, sometimes I lose sleep over the thought of someone invading my home. I have home defense and a plan but the thought is bothersom every now and then. I check the doors and nobody's there. What a terrible feeling.

I'm on a third floor apartment with not one but two doors to get into my place. I've got a gun and the guy below me is a cop. I'm as safe as I can be I guess lol.

There's probably someone in your backyard watching you right now

Depends on who is doing the inviting. I usually don't invite people over to my house who I don't know.

I spent a year in Montgomery. It's the only place I've lived where I've feared a home invasion.

Nope, got a dog and a shotgun right next to me I ain't scared of nothing.

The dog gives the bad guys a warning and the gun backs it up.

Do you have a family?

When I lived alone for several years it pretty much never crossed my mind. Now with the wife and kid I have a security system, a Doberman, and a gun near the bed. I think about it and plan for the scenario

Protective/paranoid instinct kicking in...

I live down a very long gravel road. Surrounded by homes with visibly nicer things. I have an AR by the bed, a high capacity 12 gauge in a compartment under the platform of the bed, a hand gun in each night stand, and two rather large dogs who are aggressive with anyone uninvited.

I also routinely walk outside at night with a gun to check out the garden and yard.

Scared of a home invasion? Short of burning the house down from outside, this would be a nightmare to get into.

Just be prepared to retreat to your panic room. You have a panic room, right?

Chances are extremely high that no one will ever break into your home while you are there. Criminals want no interaction for the most part.
That being said, I'd be licking my chops if someone kicked in the door while I was home.

I wouldn't say I'm scared per se, but it definitely crosses my mind every now and then. I thought about it hard the other day and realized if it did happen while we were asleep or in bed we'd have no real protection.

So I'm planning on taking a concealed carry class next week and getting something. (I know I don't need concealed carry for a gun in my house, but if I'm gonna get a hand gun I'd like the option of bringing with me).
