The game that officially put LSU back on the national scene. One of the best games I've ever seen in Tiger Stadium.

Arguably the turning point in LSU becoming a national power. I vividly remember that game. Quite frankly, UGA dominated the first half in every area but the scoreboard. Missed FGs, turnovers deep in LSU territory kept LSU in the game. Then after the long TD pass to put UGA up late, LSU fans did something they hadn't done in a long time. Instead of just accepting defeat, they got behind the team for one last push.

I think that the late UGA TD tied the game.

The fact that Gameday was there and everyone showed up early added to the atmosphere of that game.

Best experience I ever had in TS. I was a senior in college and enjoyed the whole 2003 ride. But this game made it seem like something was special. Mauck to Green was one of my favorite moments in TS ever

Senior year of high school, I was in Memphis watching it at a hotel. When Green scored I ran around the pool area screaming like an idiot.

It was easily one of the best, if not THE best 'day' game in Tiger Stadium since Oct. 25, 1969 - LSU 21, Auburn 20 - my first Tiger game.

One of the best moments ever in Tiger Stadium. After UGA tied the game late in the 4th. LSU fans believed we would still beat the defending SEC Champions. Truly a turning point for this program.

i was there. the shyrone carey "ping pong ball in a bathtub" move he put on thomas davis for the TD, the UGA screen late to tie it at 10, then the infamous MAuck to Green rollout ad lib bomb for the go ahead TD, then the corey webster INT to seal it.

That Corey Webster INT doesn't get the shine of the Mauck to Green TD pass, but what an incredible play to make at that point in the game. That team was incredibly stacked with talent.

Awesome vid, thanks OP.

Back before LSU football felt life a stressful job

Just pure, unadulterated fun

There was that quote from Mark Richt after that late UGA TD:

quote:

“Usually when the opposing team does well, the crowd quiets down. All I began to hear was a chant ‘L-S-U, L-S-U.’ It got louder and louder and louder. It was the loudest I’ve ever heard a stadium.” -- Georgia Head Coach Mark Richt (on the 2003 LSU-Georgia game)

I also remember Kirk Herbstreit saying after the game that the better team didn't win. I guess the Tigers proved him wrong in the SECCG.
