It's just weak.

Minus the spectacle, what Lebron did in going to Miami is equivalent to what Durant has done.

The difference is that Lebron has redeemed himself.

Durant's decision is nothing short of pathetic. He chose to have a championship gift wrapped for him...rather than building or climbing the mountain himself.

Like the Bulls in the 90s? Jordan, Pippen, Rodman/Horace Grant and the winningest coach in NBA history?

Making one All-Star team in his career does not make Horace a super star. That team was a duo. And by the time Rodman joined, he was already like 34. All of the Bulls stars were past 30 in fact.

I hated the process through which Lebron did what he did but the decision itself?

If seeking the path of least resistance is pathetic, are you being consistent with this application of judgment? Just checking.

For instance do you consider Phil Jackson a fraud for vowing to never coach again only to jump at the chance to coach a Shaq/Kobe team in LA? How about Kerr for choosing a playoff GS Warriors over the struggling Knicks? For pretty much every Kentucky recruit over the last half decade?

i don't think the media will make as big of a deal about it simply because durant isn't lebron.

lebron is a top 3 all-time player. and he was already a top 10 all-time player (to me) when he left cleveland the first time. durant isn't.

it coming on the 4th of july doesn't hurt either. a lot of shite going on today so there's just less time to talk about it, for twitter nerds and the media.

LeBron called himself "The Chosen One" and held a tv special to announce he was gonna go team up with superstars.

The way LeBron handled his switch to a super team is a little different from the way Durant did it.

One bailed for a 73 win team that embarrassed the fricking shite out of him in the WCF and one didn't

One is a three time champion who was clearly the best player on all three of those teams. The other is a fraud who jumps on a fricking bandwagon he couldn't beat up 3-1. But yeah, it's the same thing!!!

I'm absolutely loving how the same people who hate Lebron/love KD are rationalizing this. Wonderful entertainment

ts crazy that people are defending this move and still crucifying lebron. As if this isn't ten time worse. It really does illustrate how dumb so many people are. It's funny bc we're a nation in decline

Neither is better or worse than the other. And I have no idea wtf being a "nation in decline" has to do with anything

@RyenaRussilo: I don't understand a lot of today's arguments. Because players went to Miami, that is much better than one player going to G St?

And the people who love Lebron are trying to justify how what he did was better and this is weak

Rodman was an absolute beast in their last three years together. Doesn't matter how old he was. And besides Grant and Rodman, Phil Jackson is the best coach in NBA history, there's no argument there. It wasn't just Jordan and Pippen.

Nah. KD going to the warriors is objectively more pathetic (like way more pathetic) than Lebron going to Miami.

Both sought the path of least resistance.

Your argument is basically trying to differentiate and catastrophize one over the other because some details are different.

Lebron was a douche with the decision and and did take an easier path.

KD went to a team he couldn't beat. A team that just went 73-9 and has a wayyy better lineup than Miami did when Lebron defected there. OKC surrounded KD with great pieces, the Cavs absolutely did not.

If you can't understand the significant difference between the two situations and why most everyone is agreeing this is worse than lebron to miami, I don't know what to tell you.

I wonder which one of the posters railing against KD today would turn down their own job opportunity that gave them a better chance to succeed in a more fun environment. All of em, I'm sure!!!

Not a good enough team to win the whole thing. He had about the same record and got as far as Lebron did his 1st time in Cleveland.
