The beach is your only option. Louisiana isn't the best for scenery.
Too bad someone took a nasty shite and shut the beach down

I'm gonna say Natchez if you two just want to go some place for the weekend.
Now, if you want to go to a cool little cabin for a weekend away and be alone just to chill and fool around, call Brushy Creek in Gloster, Ms.

Chicot State Park has cabins on the lake

Natchez or Natchitoches are good choices. Nice small laid back towns on the water.
A little research and you are good to go.

There is always the Gold Nugget in Lake Charles Only problem is there is no view. 3 hours outside of BR really limits your choices Grow a pair and find a place you want and take her there, 3 hours be damned.

She will love Pass A Loutre State Park.

If you can stretch that to about 4 hours, I would recommend Louisville, MS....the place has the feel of summer camp that you went to as a kid, but a whole lot quieter. just you and the lady and it will be nice and romatic, but if you bring that gaggle of kids, there will be plenty to keep them occupied. my company has meetings here occasionally and it is comfortable and casual as can be.

Who the shite wants to spend a weekend in Gloster?

I would suggest the Renaissance on Bluebonnet or the Hampton Inn in New Iberia

Natchitoches
Good choice. Some decent places on the lake, as well as on the riverfront.
