It was only +2 in the first half with 2 injuries on the ground.

Thank goodness. Glad the front 3 showed life in the second half cause we were fricking dreadful in the first half

That 2nd half could end up being season defining

Yes it could, here's to Asenal and United going south.

I know I've been AWOL for awhile but HOLY shite that's exactly what we need. We never win those games. I absolutely love the ugly wins, I'm on cloud 9.

It could if they decide to learn something from it.

Reports that sakho wants another chance with Klopp. Do we keep him and splash money elsewhere (than Van Djik) or send him and cash for Van Djik and spend less elsewhere?

I keep hearing Van Dijk is leaning toward Chelsea.
Keeping Sakho doesn't significantly improve this team. He made his own share of bone-headed mistakes, much like Lovren.
We need to UPGRADE.
I have no sympathy for Sakho. None. Maybe the 'fat burners' he took ended up not being illegal, but his having the need to take 'fat burners' in the first place IN SEASON was the trigger that caused the whole mess.
Your supposed to be a world class athlete playing a world class sport and you're pigging out? Whoops... time for the 'fat burners'!
Nope. Sell him for as much as you can get.

In a perfect world, I'd keep Sakho (sell Lovren) and still get VVD or another top defender... someone capable of pushing Sakho/Matip for the starting position... VVD would keep one of those two on the bench...
That said, he's done here IMO... If you can use him as a make weight in a deal for VVD, that would be outstanding... If not, get as much as you can for him.. his value is only going up at CPFC... oh, and still sell Lovren...
I hope the link to Theo Hernandez at LB is true... he looks like he could be a beast for many years...

I just read the Sakho interview wherein he expresses a desire to be back on Merseyside.
It was just a self-serving excuse.
"I was late once! I paid the fine!"
OK, Mamadou... you were late once. That's all you did, eh? And that mean ol' Kloppo just won't forgive you for being late once!
As usual, the entire Sakho interview is just Sakho PR.

yeah, I don't think there is anyway back for him... I love Sakho, but he only has himself to blame..
Him and Matip should have been the partnership this season... I would be happy with that..
Ive moved on and hope we can get VVD... Perhaps another CB too, after some other needs first...

quote:I know you hate him, but I think he's perfect as a third choice. He can play either the right or the left and doesn't look quite off the pace as Klavan does against the better teams. Yes, he still makes mistakes, but everyone in our defense has.
sell Lovren
Not to say that I don't think we shouldn't upgrade, but I'm not sold that we will on an absolute replacement. Klopp seems to like Lovren so I think we're more likely to bring in another guy who could potentially challenge and more be a younger depth option like Gomez.

Y'all may already know this story but I'm going to tell it just in case you don't bc I thought it was pretty cool:
So I was in Liverpool last week and got a chance to tour Anfield as well as go to the Bournemouth match. My buddy lives over there and has been a big Liverpool fan since he was a kid. He told me that for years back in the day they would play the top 10 songs on the UK charts in the run up to the start of each game. That is until YNWA hit #1. The fans got hugely into it and sang along each week while it was #1. The week it finally fell the club got so many complaints from supporters who wanted to hear YNWA that the club scrapped the old tradition and the current one was born.
Again no idea if y'all knew that or not already but i thought it was a cool story.

As long as we get a starting LCB, I could live with him as a squad player... but honestly, I just don't think he's very good...
I just think we MAY be able to get some value for him £10mm?? Who knows.. maybe more in this inflated market...
I'd get rid of..
Lovren - Ive already said why
Milner - Let him go some where to play CM
Lucas - its time
Studge - prob best for both parties
*Moreno
*Sakho
*These two because I believe Klopp is done with them...

being we will likely be playing European football next season, no.... hang on to him... but get a true LB, and move Milner back to CM, to play the midweek games and to give this team a veteran presence...
we are so young, pretty much across the board... we need someone with some years to sorta mentor these dudes... Milner is still playing well, AND is an asset in the locker room.... keep him, but relegate him to the bench and play him at his natural position...

which isn't CM.. He's always played out wide at his other clubs...
He's another one I could live with as a squad player, but he's on ridiculous wages for that... I guess we'll need a backup LB, since I doubt we'll buy two or keep Moreno... If he's on the squad next season, it wouldn't bother me at all... ultimate pro... If he wanted to pursue other options where he could play more in his desired position, I hope the club doesn't stand in his way.. he is on the wrong side of 30 and prob only has a few years left...
I just think with Lallana, Wij, Can, Hendo, Grujic.. and if we buy another CM... we'll have plenty of CMs..
If we keep a 433, a new wide forward with pace could also see Coutinho dropped into CM at times..
If we buy a starting quality #9, I wonder if Klopp would go back to his 4231 he played at BvB??
