Funny enough, I think Milner would be ok (not great, but serviceable as a back-up) in a midfield three in one of the more advanced roles. You would need more creativity around him, but he's a decent option there.
Milner's wages are too high to be a rotational player, but he's perfect in that regard off the bench and as a part-time starter. LB/RB/CM/RW come off injured or need a break? He can fill in.
Problem is, I'm thinking Hendo is pretty much the exact same (though not sure he could play LB as well as Milner). And I think Hendo's days as a locked in starting XI guy are numbered between injuries and quality, etc. We don't need two guys filling that role as the great back-up/rotational starter for several positions.
For Lovren - yes, he's not the quality we need. I would be ok with him as a 3rd next year if it means we bought a high quality starter for next to Matip, but with the ultimate aim of Gomez moving up as the year goes on (and hopefully he proves no more injuries) and then sell Lovren the following year. I just don't see us buying 2 CBs and we need some depth there.

I think they are different players and Hendo is better as a CM... I agree in the sense that both have the engine and the workman kind of attitude... If we stay with a 3 man MF, I'd like to see Coutinho, Gini and a DLP... whether Can can step up and do the job or we bring in someone like a Paredes... Hendo can play any of the three, but I think he's best in a more B2B role... Lallana would be a good rotational player in one of the advanced roles, as well...
I know its in the reserves, but the skill Grujic has on the ball for such a big fella is impressive... He has the potential to be better than all of the above, besides maybe Coutinho...
edit: I love Hendo, but his injuries are starting to be a concern and frankly, he can be upgraded... Though I think there's a spot for a player like him in the squad..

The player missing from my outs is Migs...
I never thought I'd say this, but I'd be okay with our two GKs for next season... I still think Karius can be the long term answer...

We have more pressing needs other than GK IMO. And Migs has done well since replacing Karius. I think getting a solid run of games with a stable CB pair in front of him that's not always hurt and he can trust would go a long way as well. One of the most important areas on the pitch you need stability and we've not had that in a long time there.

So with Arsenals loss today, thay are now 9 points down with two games in hand.
Chelsea travels to Old Trafford on Sunday. It is critical that we take care of business at The Hawthorns on Sunday. If we do and Chelsea does us a favor, things will be looking way up.

Yup! This goes back to my post a few pages back talking about a lot of matches amongst the top 4 in PL as well as in European comps. Chelsea even drawing Man U would be MASSIVE, so long as we pick up a win.

After this weekend we could really be in the driver's seat. In the summer with United spending like they did on players I thought would be really good and the fact that I thought Arsenal was going to be much better I am impressed that we find ourselves here at this point. The injuries we have suffered have been a massive hit but I think we might actually hang on. I am not really convinced because we still play like shite with the type of teams we will face but United and Arsenal aren't exactly world beaters. I am convinced that we are going to overhaul a huge chunk of our club if we make Top 4 consideribg we need about 5 new starters and hopefully players like Lovren, Milner, Origi, Hendo?!! etc would provide much better depth to compete on a number of fronts.

For you LSU reds, here's Jarvis Landry in a Liverpool kit

That is a thing of beauty.

Throw him out there in ole 4-2-3-1, but play a midfield diamond 4-4-1 with him just running everywhere.
This could work. Best signing Klopp would have made to this point.
(Clearly, I said that last part in jest.)

Possible outgoing candidates and what I think is most likely to happen with them this summer:
Lovren - Kloppo likes Lovren. Probably mostly because he is low maintenance, above average output and a team player. Kloppo stresses heavily on the sum of people being greater than the individuals.
Milner - Kloppo will keep Milly. He's performed very well in a new role. He's a model professional and a leader in the dressing room. Again helps pull the team together.
Lucas - I am quite certain Kloppo wants to keep Lucas for much the same reasons as Milly. If Lucas stays I'd like him to end his career at LFC and move into coaching like Stevie G.
Studge - Out. As much as I like Studge, it's time. I hope we get a good chunk of change for him.
Moreno - Out. I had really high hopes of him.
Sakho - Probably gone. However, if him and Kloppo can mend fences he'd be a adept alternative to whoever is in our defense. If he does leave though again a good trasfer amount would be expected.
Markovic - Out. Obvious
Flanagan - Out. Obvious
Stewart - Out. Obvious
Wisdom - Out. Obvious
Bogdan - Out. Obvious
Ings - Out. Obvious
My list of incomings (Some fantasy, some realistic): The club seems to have multiple options for each position they recruit for each window. I've tried to to do the same. One from each group. Maybe 2 from certain groups if we've got the cash.
Marco Asencio / Naby Keita / Leon Goretzka -
Virgil Van Dijk / Michael Keane / Jonathan Tah -
Ryan Sessegnon / Theo Hernandez / Sead Kolasinac -
Julian Brandt / Timo Werner / Wilfried Zaha -
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang / Alexandre Lacazette / Andrea Belotti -

I would fap so hard if we got Keita and Lacazzete
PEA is unrealistic. He's barça or Madrid bound. A midfield rotation of Keita, Henderson, Lallana, Can, Wij, Milner is immediately one of the best in the league

I want Asensio at LFC real bad. That kid is a baller. He reminds me a little bit of Zidane. With good coaching from Herr Klopp, he'll be a superstar. One can only dream.

Considering the effect he had on the game when he came in against Stoke, if Klopp chooses to stick with the 3-5-2 formation for now, I say start Studge up top (if fit) instead of Origi.
Especially considering the fact that you know Pulis's lads are gonna park that bus.

I read today that Liverpool has never defeated a Pulis led team on the road. Must change that trend this weekend.

I've always hated Pulisball. Just hope we beat them.
Also DijkTip might be happenin guys.

Oxlade Chamberlain lads, feel bad saying it, been told today it's done. Got no fee info like.
This is the guy who broke the Rodgers firing/Klopp hiring news before anyone...
I'd be okay with it.. at worst he's a squad player that can fill in on the wings or in a more advanced role in the middle... At best he's a young England international that Klopp can finally mold into the player he has the potential to be...
I highly doubt we are paying the £35mm I read this week, with a year left on his deal...
