He was a bum who she had like 6 hours worth of conversation with. Do you have any idea how many of us have hit it off with someone after 6 hours and then for it to go south quickly after that? What did she really know about Jack? He could have easily had a deal breaker with her that would take weeks or months to get out of him. For all she knows he lied about everything (save for the painting). Certainly not enough to overcome a husband and kids.

It's possible he'll find it, but that diamond is light enough to be significantly influenced by the current. It's not like she dropped the thing on the Moon where nothing can disturb it. Could be many of hundreds of yards away from the Titanic.

She uses Jack to get back at Zane and her mother, uses him to save her life and then drops the damn diamond into the ocean.
Zane got caught in the middle of a mother-daughter power battle and Jack lost his life for a piece of tail.

That's not very fair. Jack pursued Rose more than vice versa. Moreover, Rose's life was saved. Indeed, she risked hers to save his, and she did it first. The one thing Rose did that was truly wrong was jumping off the lifeboat to stay with Jack on the Titanic. He may have had a better chance of surviving if he had thrown her back, but he probably still would have died. Most did. OTOH, he may have survived as long as he did only because he was trying to keep her alive. No one can say.
Most importantly, Jack made his own decisions every step of the way. Everyone who thinks Rose is a count seems to be oblivious to this.

Except that required them to tie the life jacket onto the bottom of the door to increase buoyancy. Something that most people would not think to do in a crisis situation. The Mythbusters were in California making deliberate attempt to disprove the movie, not the subfreezing North Atlantic after a massive calamity.
