The offseason bravado continues to make me laugh. The sky was falling last year and we ended with lackluster performances against Bama, Ark, Ole Miss and A&M.

During the offseason prior to the 2014 season, I seem to remember reading all the threads saying how bad we were going to kill Wisconsin in NRG Stadium.

Wisconsin is a solid, well-coached team playing in their backyard. To expect us to blow them out like a Va Tech is a little unrealistic.

We will pull away then they will catch up. They will have a chance to win with 10 seconds left in the game. I have seen this movie before.

Negatigers!! You are going to get the folks mad if you don't predict a 28 point LSU win.

I would say probability. There is a reason Vegas will have us as double digit favorites

I never understood how LSU could blow out an excellent Virginia Tech team 48-7, and then turn around and LOSE to rather mediocre clubs in Kentucky and Arkansas.

What happened?

Arkansas wasn't bad. The Kentucky loss was terrible

Danny McCray at NB covering Jacob Tamme. Charles Scott running 4 straight plays in OT. Miles was convinced we had them physically and Scott couldn't get 10yds on 4 carries in that last series of the game.

I think we are going to find out if our QB has improved and I think we are going to find out if our OL is stout. if we can't consistently execute the short passing game we are in for another long year. and, by the way, I don't blame our lack of that game solely on the QB; lack of blocking has caused many plays to not pan out well.

These will be two of the biggest area's I will be watching of course along with the defensive line and LBer play. I would love to see Fournette run for 200+, but I would much rather see Harris go for 250 as well. Maybe both will happen and I would prefer to see the majority of Harris's yards coming from short to mid range passes.

This game will set the tone for the season just like the Oregon game did in 11'.

We don't destroy quality teams as much as we use to. So Ima say no.

LSU will start out flat and have a bunch of penalties before the half, the score will be tie or LSU up by 3. After the half the team will start clicking and the Tigers will win by 17.

Very much possible in fact I think most likely. LSU shouldn't worry about this though they need to start just playing smart controlled football and stop listening to fans, media and the others about how they should do this and that and just do it on the field. Play smart but under control and I think Aranda brings that to this defense and we will shine because of it. We are the deepest we have been since that 07 year in all phases. We just need a good qb to make great decisions.

I really think Aranda will have this defense improved where it's been lacking since Saban and that's between the ears. We didn't just play fast attacking defense it was under control and fast when it needed to be and I believe that is the style he's bringing back. I can't wait to see it. Now it may not be in full view this year but we will see a difference I hope. More interceptions and more Awareness from our players as a team which will cause more TO's and negative plays. How many times have you or I seen a player looking for the big hit instead of looking for the ball and they miss a fumble recovery or interception?? This happened often or have the guy sacked/tackled for a loss and they give up or celebrate early. I think he slows them down a little for these kinds of mistakes to go away. With that I believe the offense will go also bc of how smart the D is playing and they feed off one another. This is my hope at least but I think it's reality soon. GT

I'm guessing we'll see something like 34-13, Tigers.

We've had some amazing defenses since then

2005, 2006, and 2011 were exceptional. Up there with Sabans best in 2003

The defense collapsed. Pelini always struggled against spread offenses and had some injuries.

The defense should be good enough to hold down Wisky, but there's no reason to think LSU can score many points on a quality team. The passing game worked against VT. It's been years since LSU has been able throw so I'll believe it when I see it.
