I remember walking into the Dome thinking to myself "there's no way we lose this game."

Boy, was I wrong.

Pretty much.

Still was a good season and a lot of great memories.

Watching us pound Auburn early in the season when for years that series was back and forth was fricking awesome.

There's more parallels to the 05 USC team than 11 LSU, but hey, us LSU fans love moral victories right?!

16 Warriors
- Cali team
- Most talked about regular season ever
- Most talented team in the league
- Regular season MVP on the team
- Upstaged by another guy in the MVP conversation who won MVP honors for the series
- Lost to a team on a multi-decade championship drought

05 USC
- Cali team
- Most talked about regular season ever (undefeated, going for a 3peat, two Heisman winners, etc.)
- Most talented team in CFB
- Heisman winner
- Upstaged by another Heisman hopeful who won Rose Bowl MVP
- Lost to a team on a multi-decade championship drought

My old man did. He told me afterwards that he thought the game wouldn't be nearly as close as the prior match-up...I guess he was partially right.

Knowing a) we were playing bama again, who we scraped by earlier, b) Les was firmly committed to JJ, and c) JJ played like garbage against UGA in the SECCG, I was hopeful but none too optimistic. I didn't think the offense would perform THAT poorly, but I feared JJ was really going to struggle.

really dude?

When your quarterback is making these kind of decisions, I knew LSU was going to get run out of the dome.

the NC game was lost before it ever started. The LSU players had such high hopes of playing OKSt for the 'Ship, and instead we got the "Re-match of the Century" . ALA, who didn't even win the SEC, had revenge on their minds and it clearly showed in ALL phases of the game. Mentally, the Tigers were never in it

I applaud the Tiger defense as they did the best they could for 3.5 quarters. Sadly the offense and coaches had no F'n clue nor did they make any adjustments.

the game was an embarrassment and it's still stuck in my craw b/c the fans deserved so much better.

It happens, Golden State was not the same team after James walked over Green and resulted in Green's suspension and they lost another starter to injury. Stars were aligned for James and he took advantage of it and it is as hard to beat the same team 6 or 7 times in basketball (with regular season) as it is to beat a team twice in football.

The bowl selection committee knew what it was doing when selecting Alabama as the Tigers' CG opponent.

I don't believe any other team could have come close to beating LSU that year. That was proven in the first 13 games when LSU came up against some pretty strong teams, notably Oregon, West Virginia, Arkansas and Georgia, and the Tigers routed each and everyone of them. I believe Oklahoma State would have met the same fate.

I didn't say I was confident in the offense. I said I didn't think we'd lose. We found a way to win every game prior, even with poor offensive play. I honestly thought we couldn't lose after having such a great season. We deserved to win it all but didn't. Unfortunately, we didn't get a second chance like they did.

bullshite.

This is true only if the Warriors had already beaten the Cavs in a playoff series, then were told they had to play them again in the finals.
