What is the deal with O'neal. Is he going to continue having a bad back? Will he be a contributor to this team at some point? He had such promise.

And why can't LSU get more pop type of bats.. How does a team like CC get so many guys that can go yard but we can't? Is it simply because they face lesser talent they have better numbers?? They still hit what 3 homers the other night on us?

But they went 2-0 in Baton Rouge. Doesn't say much for LSU if they team goes 0-2.

It doesn't matter at that point.

I hope they go 0-2. It's a new week. It doesn't have to reflect what happened in our series. Our season is over and what they do moving forward is irrelevant.

Maybe "horrible" is a bit of hyperbole but I see him miss more than anyone else in the infield.

Thanks for that update.

I mean though, how is his progression? I guess not really known or updated.

Can we expect him to start next season? He looked really good

The other option is that the league wasn't nearly as strong as everyone thought it was.

I think this is part of it. We were deceived and thought we had a better team than we did. Although, I still think UF is the best team in the country and we beat them 3 times, so it's hard to tell.

Regardless, I think most people would have considered this season a complete success with a super appearance back in February. We should be improved next year.

Romero had a great game tonight. Good to see him get the opportunity and finish strong

He's been fine at 3B. Deichmann is more of a defensive liability than Reid.

No idea, the infield is going to be crowded next year if Kramer, Freeman, and Deichmann all come back

Same goes for Pap. I hope we can find a way to get both of their bats in the lineup next year. I wonder if Romero can play 1B

Deichmann

I almost prefer him to DH or play the outfield corner.

He did make one good play tonight, but his defense is typically shaky at times. Then again it's just first base. Maybe he improves as a fielder.. I don't know.

Assuming Duplantis moves to CF I'd love to see Deichmann get a chance to play RF

I think we see Deichmann get a look at RF next year. I think Wofford gets a shot at 1B.

If Kramer leaves I think the infield looks like this:

3B: Reid
SS: Dawson/Freeman
2B: lochridge/Freeman
1B: Wofford
C: pap

If Dawson can't be serviceable at the plate then I think Freeman moves to SS. If he can then Freeman stays at second.

I don't mean this as demeaning to the conference or LSU, but us beating Florida 3 times was fool's gold all the way around.

the voters took our success as indicative that we were worthy of a top 8 seed, and by extension, other teams that did well against us were bumped up too.

Truth is, Florida started to fade a little against Tennessee, and lost one of their key guys by the time we faced them. We caught them at the right time, mid-season would likely have been a sweep in their favor.

This was still a very good season for all things considered, but we mostly benefited from getting on a hot streak, instead of maturing into a truly strong team.

Josh Smith from CHS is going to start next year somewhere in the infield.

I think it is more that LSU matched up well with Florida.

Very tough loss, but the runs that Pappy, Deichmann and in this last game, Romero were on to end the year has to excite you for next year. I'm proud to be an LSU alum and will probably not be watching the CWS this year. Thanks to Cheer and Rabbit! we'll be back. Now for the nauseating wait until signing deadline in July.

Hell of a game. That was one of the most exciting games I've ever watched.

The right move would have been to bat beau 8th to begin with and move pap up in the lineup.

Why Paul HAS to bat one of the Jordan brothers in the 4-6 holes is beyond me.
