I was casting my net by 6:30 with people fishing in the water and boats around me.

First off, the fish are in the clean water and the clean water is on the back side of the island. I was in on 2 person limits of trout yesterday and today. Secondly, how did you do throwing the net. I heard last week that people were catching buckets of 21/25's on the beach.

The water on the beach was clear enough to see my feet in water knee deep. I'm 6'2".

The day before yesterday I caught a lot of 12-15 shrimp and a ton of bait shrimp.

Place has a red roof, think it's just called "Leeville Seafood"

I have a camp in Leeville and we do not go to the Leeville Seafood Restaurant anymore. It is not as good as it once was. It's my understanding it has changed ownership at least once if not twice in the last couple of years.

I'm not an expert on GI beach trout but the few times I've been 6:30 is too late. You should be throwing while it's still dark. 20 minutes after the sun came up I couldn't buy a bite, when before it was every cast.

Every time I go to Grand Isle, I miss the place on the left just before you cross the Bridge to GI. Wasn't it Cigar's?
Anyone remember this? First time I had BBQ shrimp. Out of this world and couldn't eat a whole serving.

We used to eat there whenever we were on GI.
Did Katrina destroy it?

Moran's deli in the gas station has a good "real beef" burger and the fried chicken won't win medals but will make a good turd. On a side note, there's a little shop in Golden Meadow across the street from the chevron that sells live bait that has the best boudin I've ever had...hands down. The hog heads cheese was decent, but the boudin - damn.
