but he had 7 before that; however, 8 years since last one, and that one was 9 years after the one before that.
Railroaded or justice? Interesting that the victim is connected

A Houston man's ninth DWI conviction has landed him in prison for the rest of his life. He had been racking up the convictions since 1980(1), according to reports.

According to Harris County court records Middleton was charged with his first DWI when he was 20 years old. He also faced charges in 1983(2), 1992(3), 1993(4), twice in 1997(5/6), 1999(7), and 2008(8).

Even after all those run-ins with the law over drunk driving, the man still maintained a valid Texas driver's license.
quote:
He had hit a 16-year-old driver head on in the most recent incident and later fled to a nearby gas station looking for a place to hide out, according to KTRK-TV. The teenager, the son of Montgomery County Precinct Four Constable Rowdy Hayden, survived the accident.

obviously not in Louisiana where there are seemingly no punishments whatsoever for DWI.

frick him. Justice. If you haven't learned after 8 arrests, you never will.

Much too harsh. It looks like he had slowed down and this last one was a fluke.

He took the stand during sentencing (dumbass), and basically showed no remorse (dumbass x2). But obviously the multiples of dumbassery are way more than this.
Only a dumbass gets 9 DWIs. Even though his DL was still valid, he was surprised to learn that and admitted not even carrying it for the past 2 years. Dumbass.
Dumbass previously fled from cops while drunk and driving, putting neighborhood children at risk.
He previously injured people and families during prior DWIs.
During his testimony at sentencing, he showed no remorse, blamed others, and even attempted to blame being picked on in high school.
Screw this dumbass. If we can't choot'em, then frick'em. Lock him up. It may be cheaper for society in the long run. He can get his needs met making raisin wine with his cell mates.
