Bourbon
Ginger Ale
Bitters

I had this at last year's Hogs for the Cause, and I've been drinking it ever since. I can never remember the name of this drink, and every time I explain it to someone we are left with a bit of disappointment due to the lack of its deserved title.

Does anyone know what this is called? Is it a unique drink to H4C that had no common name prior?

Regardless, it's about the best damn drink I've ever tasted. Real ginger ale is the key by the way.

I had something similar this weekend which was very good. It seems there are many names depending on the variables but it's essentially a Horse's Neck with Bourbon instead of Brandy.

Mine was called an Audubon Park and had Bourbon, Ginger Beer, lemon, St. Germaine, and Bitters.

I get the impression this isn't a standard drink, thus the differing names.

I do like the sound of this one though:

St Germaine is legit, and I can see it pairing well with the ginger. I had a great bourbon drink the other day in Denver. It was:

Bourbon, peach puree, sour mix and St Germaine.

I mixed me up a batch last night with fresh puree and homemade sour mix, and man it was good.

Huh. I always thought the classic highball was bourbon and soda water. I've been wrong for a while

The bitters do make a difference though. I've drank Jack and ginger ale for years (again, not knowing it was the highball), but my world changed when angousta was added to the mix

Technically this is a "Horse's Neck" minus the lemon twist .
Odds of a local waiter/bartender knowing that-about zero.

How about you drink your bourbon neat like a real man?

But even I'll admit to a splash of ginger ale in it with an ice ball in the yeti. I just like a little fizz without too much flavor to overpower the bourbon.

I thought a horse's neck used brandy?
Seems like some ppl call it a Presbyterian.
I just call it bourbon & ginger ale.

Sounds like a Presbyterian to me. Bourbon, ginger ale, sometimes cut with soda water and dash of bitters.
