Circuses too, they are stopping with live animals as it is.

That is not entirely because of PETA. It is because circuses are shitty and live animal circus acts are lame and expensive to keep up.

Seaworld got knocked the frick out by a documentary.

I've been out of the loop recently and haven't read up on the gorilla thing or the backlash. That being said, what other things make the OP think zoos are on their way out? Or is this just typical overreaction/24h news cycle where Kanye will say something stupid tomorrow and no one will give a shite. Anyone remember that lion that got shot by that dentist?

Don't care.

Zoos are for poors. Go on a safari or something.

Blackfish destroyed them.

Now their long term plan is to turn all of the Sea Worlds into Busch Garden's like parks. More heavily focused on rides and attractions, with some animals sprinkled around.

Brian Fellows bought the Bronx Zoo. It's not going anywhere.

And a blatantly misleading one at that

I live five miles from SeaWorld. Love the park. Still salty over the whole thing.

What is crazy is that there are articles saying how Blackfish wasn't 100% the truth. Not saying SeaWorld was completely innocent, but that the documentary was PETA propaganda that was able to stir a public outcry.

Yup. That was their whole goal. Emotional response. Not truthfulness. Shameful.

Zoos should be banned as they are cruel and unjust habitats for animals. Animals are meant to be free not caged.

Zoos are a late Nineteenth and early Twentieth century phenomenon. So are circuses. These acts are going to start dying on the vine. It is a new century and a new era.

I bet zoos start looking like zoos again.

A lot more bars and a lot less shrubbery and ropes. If only to keep our dumbasses out.

Or save us from ourselves. Like the San Diego tiger. I believe it was San Diego. Tiger got pissed off enough to catch that bastard. Who knows the physical limits of a tiger? Or chimp? Or lion? Especially a MOTIVATED one.
