ETA: When he pitched the MS first game at Alex Box this season the fans around us were giving him hell for that silly pose. Notice he only does it with runners on base. I'm willing to bet it's his contribution to Cohen's silly mind games that continue throughout their games.

Just watching the replay of last night's game, I noticed the announcers were really critical of all the fake pick off moves to second base even when LSU had the bases loaded. Where was the runner on second base going with a guy on third ahead of him?

The announcer even said, "What I don't get is why the pick off move towards second base?" The other announcer said, "It's best we don't go into that." And they both laughed.

Another of Cohen's mind games with hitters just slow the game down.

I thought it was Warrior II pose.

Anything to slow down the game or distract the batters.

Is he trying to somewhat copy Craig Kimbrel?

Kimbrel is way more intimidating though

Took this last night. It's just his special friend coming out to give him a hug when he lets a man on base. Gotta be quick to see him though

I kept hoping that one of LSU players would do a mockery of him while on base or something. That would've been hilarious.

I think it was just an over exaggerated coaching technique used to make him stop doing something, like fumbling around with the ball. He probably practiced it so much that it became a part of his routine.

Its kind of like a leg kick. Some pitchers have higher leg kicks to force them to put all of their weight on their back foot so that they can get a maximum push off the rubber.

Try to explain pitcher Jon Gant's pitch though. Holy shite

I heard that it was suggested to him to try something to help him gain a mental edge because he was a bit wild from the stretch. This is what he settled on, aa: Kimbrel.
