Tim Delaney might have been fishing with a 2-foot kiddie pole on Iatt Lake Saturday evening, but the pint-sized tackle didn’t stop the 33-year-old Prospect angler from reeling in potentially the biggest bream ever to land in the Louisiana record books.
The giant bluegill was 11 ½ inches long, 6 inches

And white fricking sunglasses...
The flatbills are taking over.

I can honestly say that someone in my family, including myself, has caught one close or bigger than that. I don't think about breaking records. I think about frying that hog an eating dat!

Pretty sure I have caught one that big every weekend for the last 2 months.

I'd have thought you guys had bigger bluegill down there in all that water. The AL state record is 4 lbs 12 oz, over twice as big as the one that dude caught. That's still a big "bream" though.

Nice bream on a barbie pole. Awesome catch.

I dont think anyone really thinks about submitting records down here, at least when it comes to sacalait or bream. People catch dos to eat dat!

Look up some of the state fish records. Sone seem easy to break. I think most people just don't know them or care. I bet if you were to look them up and set out to break a few it wouldn't be that hard

Bring your pair down south. You'd fit right in at the Coco launch.

Yeah, it's a lot harder than you think. I tried earlier this year to break into the sac au lait book and it is proving quite difficult and we catch some big fish.

I work pretty close to this place. It is an old gravel pit that is privately owned now. Right in the middle of the industrial part of beautiful, crime-free (LOL) Tarrant. No trespassing signs all over the place. I would love to slip in there one day. Never see anyone around it.
ETA: This is the one I'm really after. Damn...

Looks like 1950 was the year in AL.

I've caught some in Tew Lake around that size. I never thought they would be anywhere close to being a state record. I was thinking about how big their filet's would be.

I know exactly where you're talking about. I used to work at a lumber mill basically across the street that was an old GP plant. The taco truck in front of that gas station across the road is still the best Mexican food I've ever eaten

Here is a pretty good bluegill my son caught. Did not weight it though.

I think that fish only identifies as a bluegill.
