My 6 year old is very independent. She wants to use public restrooms by herself

She no longer wants me to accompany her to the restroom (which means using the men's restroom) and I completely understand why. She's becoming more independent. She wants to feel like a little girl rather than a baby.

Recently when we were at a nice restaurant, she said, "Daddy, I need to go to the bathroom."

I said, "Okay...I'll take you."

She cut me off and said, "I don't want to go to the boy's room. I want to go by myself to the girl's room.

In a split second I thought, "Is she old enough? What if the toilet seat is gross and she doesn't wipe the seat off first?"

But then I reluctantly empowered her and said, "Okay. You can go to the girl's restroom by yourself. But I'm going to stand outside the door in case you need assistance, alright?"

She smiled and said, "Thank you, Daddy!"


However, a few days later I thought about this situation again. What if my 6 year old daughter went into the restroom and there happened to be a transsexual or a man who identifies as a woman in there? Transexualism is a mental disorder so who knows what that person might do!

Or, worse, what if a pedo was in there? What if a pedo gained access because he threatened management with a lawsuit if they didn't allow him to use the women's bathroom because he identifies as a women? I mean, anyone can lie. Anyone can falsely claim they identify as a women. A pedo could do a lot of harm to a little girl in very little time. Transsexuals and pedos all have mental disease so perhaps the pedo wouldn't care what would happen to him after he committed the crime.

Companies allowing men into women's restrooms makes me very nervous. I'm very protective of my family. The last thing I want is a random man in the women's bathroom asking my little girl if she needs assistance.

How would I even have that conversation with a 6 year old? The only other option is that her mother and I continue to accompany her to the bathroom because we no longer can trust that freaks won't be in the public restroom with her.

Sad what this country has become. This country has a mental disorder.
