Fenway/Yankee Stadium Trip

Looking to take a trip with a couple buddies to either just Fenway for an extended weekend (Thurs-Sun), or do Fenway on a Thurs night and then train to NYC and hit Yankee Stadium Friday and Saturday as well. July 22nd weekend most likely. Never been to Fenway or the new Yankee Stadium. If we did both in the same weekend then would be jam packed with little city time. We're college students so trying to make it cheap as possible, just one of those bucket list trips.
Should we do only Boston or both Boston and NYC? Also any flight and accommodation recommendations? CuseTiger do you know any deals that weekend? TIA

I've been to both and would go back to Fenway 100 times. Definitely do the tour too. I have done the regular tour and the batting practice tour. Batting practice tour is very abridged compared to the normal tour, but you get to walk down by the visitors' dugout and sit on top of the green monster during batting practice.

Fenway is a better stadium and more fun than the new Yankee stadium. Although the Yankee stadium tour is pretty awesome.

I did the same back in college days
the train from bos to nyc is cheap or at least it was back then
your problem is going to be lodging unless you know someone to crash with
the shithole we stayed at in New York still causes me trauma
Fenway is awesome
the old Yankee stadium was kind of a dump but had character
do not go hit the streets in the Bronx afterwards...straight onto the train

I've done it a couple times. They have a business limo bus that we took that was pretty sweet. Picks you up in downtown Boston and drops you off in Midtown Manhattan

Are you going to these just to find something to do? If so limit it to 1.
Are Yankee Stadium and Fenway both on the list of things you want to see before you die, then make it happen.
I made it happen when the Braves played back to back series against both. I was in NYC for 5 days, just took one of those days as a trip to Fenway and the Freedom Trail. Took a night bus back after a night game in Fenway and didn't need to change accommodations or anything like that.

Can't really help you with NYC, but happy to give advice for Boston. Lived here about 3 years now.

I would pick one and go with that to get the most out of it.
Fenway is the better experience.
Batting practice tour is legit, you have to get tickets around 8 that morning for that day's game.
You meet in gift shop across from stadium, walk on field behind home plate, go in stands and make way up to Green Monster, well worth it.
You will be rushed if you try to do New York too and New York is a whole different animal just getting around the city itself.

Fenway was AWESOME. We were in Boston and bought tickets from 2 drunk guys ... kinda reminded me of an LSU experience actually. Tickets were behind home plate but up ... was really really cool.

Fenway is a must for any sports fan. Boston is a cool city but you really don't need more than a couple days there.
The old Yankee stadium was a dump, never been to the new one, but New York City is a million times more fun/interesting than Boston. You could spend 2 weeks in New York and barely scratch the surface of everything to do and see.
Ny to Boston is 4 hours on a relatively affordable train ride. I'd definitely recommend going to Fenway, but beyond that spend most of your time in NYC.

Disagree entirely. I'm not comparing Boston to New York (and the townies from here that do are delusional ), but there is a lot this city has to offer that cannot be covered in a couple days.

New york>>>>>>>>>>boston
Fenway>>>>>>>yankee stadium
Im not really sure you can go wrong with whatever you choose.

I agree with that 100%.
But I will say when it comes to living in one of those cities, I do enjoy Boston over New York.
