Why are there no car companies that make cars that looks as good as expensive...

...cars but at an affordable price?
For example... why can they not make a Honda Accord look as good as an Audi or Mercedes?
It's just body styling... surely the styling doesn't make a car more expensive, does it?

Kia did well in this dept when they released the newer style optima.

Chrysler tried it with the 300. And you seem ignorant as to why nice cars cost more money.

A lot of those companies that offer affordable car lines also have luxury car lines. Doesn't seem like good business sense to make your low end model look just as good or better than your high end model.

The Koreans do an alright job of this - of course, tough to call Hyundai "inexpensive" anymore, but they're still a good relative value and do spend the money on styling the past few years.

Volkswagen CC is sharp as hell inside and out for $30k.

Kias look pretty solid IMO

Not to mention that the cars they make are never nearly as cool as the concept vehicles they tease you with.
Oh...and to answer your question - the people like me don't want you poors thinking your cars are as good looking as our expensive ones.

I assumed it was because of a more powerful engine, better suspension, higher quality interior pieces, features like heated seats, navigation, etc, and different brands charge more for the name.
Is it more expensive to make a Camry look like a Mercedes?
For example... why does Camry have to look like this:
Could they not make it LOOK like this if they wanted to?

Kia actually does pretty well. Hyundai does decently well to and I'm going to be honest the Fords look really good at their price point as well. Fusions are some nice looking cars.

These cars kind of already exist. People want the name though and not just the looks. There are a lot of nice looking less expensive cars out there.

If you switched the logos on the car, you'd be asking this same question. The Mercedes looks like it is a nicer car to you because you know it is a Mercedes.

Do you think all of those subtle curves and lines are just as cheap to make as a flat body panel?

The fact you are asking this may show a little bit on why you can't afford one. There is a reason it is more expensive.
FTR quit trying to buy a poser car and just work your way up to where you can buy what you really want. That is the beauty of the system we live in.

You just compared a 30k car to a 100k+ car.

I've got a 2016 Civic. I think it looks pretty nice.
And as mentioned, Kia and Hyundai have been making better looking cars.

I saw a Maserati one day before I knew what a Maserati was. My reaction was "wow, what kind of car is that!?" (And this was a sedan... not some supercar).
Later found out it was a Maserati. I didn't know what the logo was, so obviously I was not influenced by a brand.

For example... why does Camry have to look like this:
the new Accords are pretty stylish
the new optimas are nice (other than the grill/lights)
one mid-value car that always surprises me is the ford fusion
