$180k? Here's a completely renovated 2,500 sq ft. house with an acre yard in a great neighborhood!
That great neighborhood deal is a real stretch. Waco is extremely ghetto. They do a good job of completely hiding the fact that that town is an armpit. Some of those houses are on streets you would't want to live on, renovated house or not.

For about $150,000 Chip and Joanna can hook her up with a nice house.

i can't imagine going to a private school in my home state. always made me scratch my head here with Tulane (and especially the "bad" ones like Loyola or LC)

SMU is way more expensive than both of those.
Like $50k per year expensive. More than Princeton

This is true.
But why would you pay that much to go to a school that sucks dick at athletics.
However, I wouldn't say $50K is much more than $42K. That's what my tuition at Baylor was in 2009, before my scholarship for that year.

Because when you graduate people in Dallas will accept you, not cross the street when you approach

A&M sucks balls, so does UT. Only bandwagon trailer trash go to those schools.

Depending on majors, Baylor's business school is always one of the top ones in the country. Especially in accounting.
Not saying Baylor is "bad" for business, but I'd like to see some rankings behind this, because I sure as hell can't find Baylor ranked as a top business school.

Well, I wouldn't have any qualms if my kids attended Rice.
I don't know too much about the private schools in Louisiana other than Tulane made UT's baseball team look foolish recently . However, we did do some work/mediation with an Austin attorney that got his degree from Loyola - Louisiana. He did great work for us.

According to Public Accounting Report the undergrad accounting program is the 19th best in the country and LinkedIn has it in the top 10 for graduate accounting programs.

I went to Baylor, for what it is worth.
Waco has changed a LOT in the past 10-15 years.
Its almost what Austin was in the 70's, except its Waco and in the 2010's.
Good school, good education, nice town except for the biker shootings.
Nice student life from everything I hear with kids going there now.
Not cheap

I honestly can't recall meeting a normal person that went to Baylor undergrad. They were all odd-ball, socially defunct weirdos. Granted, a lot were only children.
Pretty much. Also has anyone mentioned Waco is ghetto as frick? Like not student housing with a lot of kids partying ghetto like your average college town, but actual gang activity.
If your child is insistent on going to a private school go to TCU or SMU. Better education, better kids and far better place to live for four years

My son graduated from Baylor. He was overwhelmed by LSU and after one semester transferred to Baylor. He enjoyed his experience there, got a good education and is a proud alumnus.

Random question, don't you basically have to be top 10 percent to get into A&M and UT anyways?
I didn't apply to either because I freaking hate both schools, but I seem to remember hearing that back in high school.

I know several millenials who just graduated Baylor, and here's the bottom line:
They are vying for the same menial jobs that everybody other 22 year-old in the State of Texas, and the US, is trying to get.
I have a cousin who graduated from TCU last year, and was genuinely shocked that she had to compete with all those state school grads, even though she had paid all that money to go to TCU. Heartbreaking.
Why would you ever pay all that money to go to Baylor, TCU, Tulane, or any other damn place, when at the end of the day it doesn't mean anything.

Lol I mean I won't sit here and deny that there are some of those, but that's at every school.
I partied my dick off at Baylor and even though my parents were 25 miles down the road I may have seen them 4-5 times a semester.
The only people who need the coddling are the actual bible beaters. I mean I skipped chapel all the time and also absent failed religion the first time around.
Don't care, those classes were bullshite.
