SMU is a better school than TCU.

Baylor if you are rich and smart

Smart? No. It isn't Rice. It isn't Texas. It isn't even A&M.

For about $34 she can get a nice fixer upper house in Waco.

I just lol'ed hard.

The prices on that show are fricking unreal.

$180k? Here's a completely renovated 2,500 sq ft. house with an acre yard in a great neighborhood!

Tell her to go to Texas state. She'll thank me later.

They sure do have a blast in San Marcos. One of the top party schools in the country, hands down.

If I ever have a kid who wants to go to Baylor it will question everything I've done as a father.

Is it in a shitty town? Check.
Is it oppressively religious? Check.
Is the administration tone-deaf to serious wide-sweeping allegations of sexual assault? Check.
Are the alumni creepy? Check.
Does the (expensive) degree only carry weight in Texas? Check.

I can't think of a worse place to send your kid and nearly a quarter million of your dollars. Except for maybe Ole Miss.

Baylor is a good time.

I went there in 2009-2013, right before we started getting good at sports.

School is definitely difficult. I didn't have to study at all in high school or anything, so just be sure that she's willing to study. I spent probably 20+ hours in the library a week and barely managed to keep above a 3.0, I also partied balls there.

If she wants to join a sorority be sure to tell her that she'll have to go an entire semester without going out. There isn't a fall rush for freshman and the sororities don't allow potential pledges to go out and if they do and are seen then they will get blackballed.

Also, don't go if you're poor. I came from a middle class family and felt pretty poor there. Everyone I knew was driving Escalades, Benz's, brand new F-250's and Range Rovers.

I had a brand new 2009 F-150 Lariat and felt poor as shite.

Growing up in Texas and going to college there isn't good. GTFO of there while you still have a chance. At least put some roots down in the SOUTH somewhere. Somewhere in the SEC...not that freak school in Texas either.

Was that good enough for pics?

I think it would be an ok place to go. Nothing outside in Waco though. Had this sleepy town vibe with absolutely nothing to do feel to it. I hear their vet or dentistry program is good?

I just remember all of my friends and I getting acceptance letters from Baylor... Except none of us had applied there

Baylor for undergrad

Twice the price of UT or A&M, half the education.

Don't understand why anyone would go to Baylor, considering it's academically inferior, but costs a lot more money than the two big state schools.

Tend toward conservatism and prefer small-town vibes? A&M
Tend toward liberalism and like the city? UT

I mean, either way, the State of Texas has you covered. There's a good school for each kind of person. No need to shell out huge money to a school that's not even as good, and is in an inferior town (Waco is awful) compared to both Austin and CS (CS is no jewel, but it's better than Waco).

Pros: Maybe you can get a shitty house transformed into an awesome place for free

Cons: everything else

Zero reason to choose Baylor over SMU

Ashtanga mostly, some Bikram and Vinyasa.

Asana seemed to be big in Waco.

Way too expensive for the level of education and Waco is a shithole. I'd rather send my kids to Texas State (I'm assuming she's not getting into A&M or UT).

You're an idiot. I was born and raised in Waco, went to Baylor and it's MILES better than College Station. Austin also sucks dick. No traffic at all ever in Waco and Baylor is superior in sports to both schools.

A&M sucks balls, so does UT. Only bandwagon trailer trash go to those schools.

Depending on majors, Baylor's business school is always one of the top ones in the country. Especially in accounting.

If it's a money thing, I graduated from high school with a 3.9 and received a $60,000 scholarship from Baylor. Due to them being a private school, they're more than willing to dish out scholarships to a good amount of their students. I only knew 2-3 people there who were actually paying full tuition.

Anyone who says Waco and/or Baylor is a shithole doesn't know what they're talking about.

I honestly can't recall meeting a normal person that went to Baylor undergrad. They were all odd-ball, socially defunct weirdos. Granted, a lot were only children.

Maybe they needed that "nurturing, coddling" environment? Who knows...
