For the OP...

What I am wearing today. Watch with bracelet and separate black NATO strap cost me about $200.

How much are you looking to spend? Tissot Visodate & Seiko SARB065 are both nice quality and much better looking than eco-drives IMO. The SARB065 is a beautiful watch.

I don't know if they were that cheap. Had to be Laco. 250 Euro is the cheapest I see.

Aeromatic is a Dutch company that sells on the order of $100. No idea of their quality.

My opinion:

The vast majority of people who are interested in watches enough to ever notice what you're wearing on your wrist will be sophisticated enough to appreciate the value represented by a Seiko or Citizen watch.

My "collection" runs the gamut from Rolex to Seiko and I love them all and wear whatever I want to.

Also, anyone who would say something like that is not someone whose opinion you need to give a shite about anyway.

Post us a pic of the watch you ended up buying.

This.

I have Tag, Sinn, and Citizen and then cheaper. If someone tries to pull off a watch as something it isn't then they should expect shame and ridicule. Anybody who mocks my Citizen or my GShock can eat a bag of dicks. Now I do own a Bangkok Rolex (Pepsi bezel GMT) that bastard still runs. Has a great kinetic movement. Pick it up and shake it twice and it is off and running. I wore it for a while. I expected mockery. Had one guy ask ( though I believe he knew the answer) if I had a Rolex. I of course immediately fessed up. My fake has a sweep hand but everything else about it screams fake. Especially if you take it off.

Again, just to match my black shoes and belt for a casual dress watch at work:

I have a few nicer watches, but really needed a dressy/casual black banded watch. I hate changing out bands and this one had awesome reviews everywhere I looked.

ETA:

And I already bought it so take it easy on the criticisms please . If you can't tell, I like classic and plain style stuff.

Nothing wrong with that. I have traditionally been the same and have only recently just started to venture out a bit.

This can bother me in some watches, these on this particular one didn't really bother me because its only the 12 and 6. I looked for the same watch around same price with just dashes, but couldn't find it. Definitely didn't want numbers unless it was a Bauhaus or whatever style, but I didn't want to spring for a nice one of those.

It was about $130-150 on most websites, but found a reputable dealer on ebay selling for $85...and that is nothing so I didn't feel guilty buying it.

Enjoy. It's hard to be too critical in that price range; buy one you like the look of and junk it if it breaks.

Haven't seen anyone mention Nixon.

This is a pretty classic look.

I really like the Omega leather, but I'll probably buy on bracelet.

I think we were talking about it earlier, I really like the moon watch, bud would prefer a moon watch design with auto movement (and date). But there is no full size Moonwatch auto.

Little worried about winding it, but its so sweet.

Thoughts?

This is what I am going to get. Simple look, nothing flashy. Decently priced.

I have this exact Tissot that I bought a little over a year ago. I wear it almost every day and it still is in perfect condition and keeps perfect time. 10/10 would recommend

I got a kenneth cole watch. You can find one that meets your price range, i'd recommend it.

I'd get a manual winder with sapphire sandwich. Not sure if they still sell it, but that's the one I'd want.

Is just insane.

How about those reactor watches? Always hear about them from commercials for the highline jewelers.
