Age has nothing to do with me liking Yield because I like Dunn. I don't like Hield because his skill set is strictly scoring and nothing else he has one of the worse asst/ToV ratios in the NCAA. He is a complete black hole on offense. His big jump has came due to his ball handling which I don't think will translate. Then he's not a great athlete probably average and is undersized to top it off. Its one thing not to be a great athlete but atill have good size like Klay and Middleton to be great defenders but he lacks both. I'm not fond of an Eric Gordon skill set and D with being a black hole of a Ryan. Anyway at 6 Hield will be gone and I couldn't be happier so our choices may be Brown, Dunn, Bender, Luwawu who I will all be happy with.

There's a reason why the nba made it to where you need a year of college now. Too many owners were thinking like you: this guys is 17 and killing it in HS!! Future HoF talent!

Then he busts

This just isn't true. You should check out the new Jonathan Abrams book, Prep to Pros. Not every guy was a superstar, but far more hits on straight to the league than misses.

Age limit wasn't about a wave of HS busts.

I don't think you understand what black hole and undersized mean...

Don't give me the stats of every SG in the NBA look at the top one

Harden 6'5-6'6
Klay 6'7
Middleton 6'8
Hood 6'8
Burks 6'6
Green 6'6
Wiggins 6'6
Lavine 6'5
JJ 6'5
Cj is 6'4

So yes he is undersized and he has one of the worst ast % with someone of his usage so yes he's a black hole who takes bad shots.

Nice job picking and choosing though...

Wade 6'4
Oladipo 6'4
KCP 6'5
Ellis 6'3
Crawford 6'5
Afflalo 6'5
Matthews 6'5

And consider that a lot of their "listed heights" are with shoes or given the extra half inch on ESPN/yahoo/etc...whereas Buddy's listed height is 6'4 yet he's 6'4 1/2 with shoes which means he'd be listed at 6'5...

That whole list is trash out side of Wade who was a freak athlete, so Hield best hope is to be like Matthews but Matthew was still bigger and stronger.

Wade 6'4

Obvious stud

Oladipo 6'4

Solid player. Hasn't grown to potential. Could be his team around him?

quote:

KCP 6'5

A player that has taken a few years to develop. He's a good player now.

quote:

Ellis 6'3

Was once a good player. Now he's a spark guy offensively.

quote:

Crawford 6'5

He's like 34 now? In his prime, he was one of the best 6th men.

quote:

Afflalo 6'5

Always under the radar. His Denver years were great considering the player he is/was.

quote:

Matthews 6'5

Top 4-5 SG last year. If not for injury, he'd still be just as good.

Exactly. Not a single person has expectations for held to be a 20/5/5 player but if you told me we could get a Wes Matthews, afflalo, oladipo, etc caliber player at 6 why not? A better eg that isn't defensively inept? I rather that than a guy who could realistically end up being another aminu.

Oh forgot all about Beal 6'5.

I fell the same way I feel like he would be a good role player in the mold of those guys listed but I rather take my shot at a potential allstar.

Pels talk vs 504ByrdGang: part 33 just isn't as appealing as it used to be

And I'm the one who invented #Yield4Hield

Thon maker just declared for the draft. For those who don't know him LINK
He's super raw so I'm wondering if he would fall to the second and if we would take a chance in him.

Average height for an NBA SG is 6' 5.6", lower 10 percentile is 6' 3.3" and 90th percentile is 6' 7.2". Average wingspan is 6' 8.6".

Hield is 6' 4.5" with a wingspan of 6' 8.5". If he's undersized it's by a minuscule amount.

He isn't the size of Klay Thompson or Khris Middleton, but he also isn't the size of Monte Ellis or CJ McCollum. He's the size of Wade or Oladipo. I don't think his size should be a cause for concern.

For me, the size only matters on defense. Wade and (to a lesser extent) Dipo are superior athletes, offering some flexibility (and even some rim protection) on that end. Hield doesn't look like that type of athlete.

That doesn't mean you don't draft him if you're the Pels- they need as many actual NBA players as they can find for this roster and Hield can help right away. But size on defense on the perimeter is an issue the Pels have ignored for 4 years. At some point, assuming they want to be a decent defense, they need to get serious about perimeter players in the 6'6"-6'9" range.
