Do days like today make you nervous to travel?

Planning a trip to NYC this summer with my daughter. Although this doesn't make me not want to go and won't keep us from going, I'll admit it makes me a little nervous.

I realize it's not nearly the same as going overseas but who the hell knows when they bring this crap back here. You know they will. It's a matter of when.

You're far more likely to die in a car crash on the way to the airport.

You can't live your life worrying about it. I'd fly to Brussels right now if I could.

No, if anything today is probably much safer to fly since everyone is on high alert.
If you are refering to general travel as a whole, no I am not for two reasons:
1) It would be pretty difficult to take down a US Aircraft/Airport
2) If it happens, it would more than likely be a quick way to go, and it is my time.

It would make me nervous to go to Europe in the near future, but luckily (or unluckily) I have no plans to cross the pond soon. My father in law and his wife are going to France for like a month in June, kinda nervous for them.

As long as Islam is prevalent throughout the world, anyone should be concerned about traveling to foreign countries and air travel in general.

No. It's a big world out there and events like these are extremely rare. Not to say that people shouldn't be aware of their surroundings. Just keep it in perspective.

Nope.
I won't get it a second thought the next time I'm in a major airport.

No more than any of the other things I hear about idiots doing that could impact my safety.
Do threads about DUIs, car crashes or boating accidents due to inattentiveness or impairment, fights at sporting events or bars, shootings at parades, etc. also make you nervous to participate in the activities associated with them?

Like in a head on crash? Maybe flying off a cliff? I hear getting trapped under a gas truck is the worst, I have this buddy, well I had this buddy....

I'm supposed to be in Brussels next month. I'm still going if I can.

Oh I agree that they win if we don't continue to live. Was just curious as to if it rattles anyone a little. That's all.

Really? What makes you feel safer there? Never have been overseas ... I'm missing out I know but hopefully I'll make it one day.
