I can see it now some Barney Fife arrest a 70 year old propert owner having a glass of wine on the beach.
Shouldn't have glass on the beach anyway.

Early summer and fall are usually the best times to go since it's not as crowded. Right now, it's a fricking zoo and that's what I was referring to.

Don't you know these ladies down here drink their wine out of solo cups? Haha

Im gonna use the gun control argument. Just enforce the laws that are already in place. I dont understand creating another law or policy? Keep government out of my vacation.

For real...granted I'm only 25 but I have memories of spending my early childhood at my grandparent's Santa Rosa beach house. They sold that thing for dirt cheap(sold within 3 hours), and I probably could retire if that house was worth it's current value and they gave it to me.

Alabama hates freedom so this is nothing new. You could get a MIP with booze in your system but with no evidence.
It sucks that the south keeps listening to conservatives that hate freedom
We love freedom. I feel more free in Alabama than almost any other state I've visited. But we have no tolerance for shitheads coming to our house and leaving a huge mess. I have no problem with spring break being rowdy. Do whatever you want, just pick up your shite when you're done, so my kids can have spring break there too one day. If you can't do that, then take your precious $250 budget and keep on driving down the interstate. We really don't care.

I live on West Beach in GS, and this is an overreach by our simple minded gov't.
There are a ton of locals scared about the rowdiness, but there are few facts to back it up.
It's more crowded this year, but nothing we can't handle.
Fear mongering leads to gov't control. Nothing more, nothing less.

Good move....don't need irresponsibles tearing up stuff people have worked hard to create.

I just think if they want to stop something they should use current laws on the books that target the people they have problems with and don't make blanket policies that reach to everyone.

Panama City did the same thing this year. It's basically dead because of it.

It's not dead. They're here, they've just moved west to 30a and Destin

From the pictures I saw there were empty trash cans everywhere. Kids too lazy to clean up after themselves.
They need to go after the law breakers not people doing the right thing. If I was a property owner (or even a renter) and got a ticket for having a beer on the beach when I was not causing a problem or making a mess I would be pissed.
Except for glass, they should fine people $500 per bottle in their possession. That is just reckless and stupid.

I agree, don't want littering just think there is a thin line between limiting rights of property owners and handling up on spring breakers breaking existing laws.
Posted on 3/19/16 at 12:34 pm to Btrtigerfan
Glad I had my spring breaks before this shite happened. I doubt there will be one place where everyone goes now, most likely small groups will go to different beaches and do their own thing now

Gulf Shores had to do something as the wealthier vacationers and real estate sales were starting to suffer because of the "types" of crowds that were showing up.

That might be one of the dumbest statements I've ever read on here.
