Is it too early to list Drago's as one that hasn't come to fruition yet?
Are there other eateries that were planned and never panned out?

Hot Tails/Sac-a-lait
And I'll just go ahead and add the alleged Kenilworth Superior Grill to this list. I have no faith whatsoever that it will come to fruition.

Ok, but it was ballyhooed at the time

Understand.
I personally think almost any sort of commerce is good, so the chain complainers seem a bit silly to me.
But JR is not something a city needs to be complete.

Yeah, what was the story behind that? Were they planning to tear down that existing portion of the shopping center?

I really want this to happen, but I kinda get the same feeling.

They have a sign up there saying it's going to open in fall 2016.

There was some announcement of a Texas D'Brazil competion type place coming near Mall. can't remember the name

What about the wayne stabiler restaurant on Jefferson across from Bocage that used to be an old bank? Been seeing the sign for a "future wayne stabiler restaurant" for about a year now and haven't seen any construction.

I wouldn't be shocked if BRPD puts up part of the funding for that Superior Grill on Highland. Can you imagine the uptick in DWI revenue when the only way to leave is to get on Highland Road? They will just be parking the breathalyzer bus in the hardware store parking lot like a giant ATM machine for the city.

Is it just me or has the BRPD not been doing as many checkpoints as they did at one point?
Posted on 3/10/16 at 3:33 pm to Paul Allen
They aren't because the LT that ran that unit and pushed for the checkpoints finally retired. He is pulling down $140,000k in retirement per year because he was claiming ten to twelve hours of OT a day 365 days per year and used that to up his retirement. He made almost twice what the mayor made his last year with BRPD. Really not sure how that was never investigated. Anyway, without him around they have slowed down some.
But they were out on Perkins again last Thurs so they may be picking back up for summertime.
