quote:Hey, can you tell your friend to pass these guys a message that I have some ocean front property in Arizona I think they might be interested in? Thanks, buddy.
A good friend of mine is a systems administrator for the Shaw Group. His boss, and good friend, is good friends with the VP, CIO of the Shaw Group. This guy, who has close ties to Jim Bernhard (Shaw CEO), stated that Bernhard, who is a major contributor to TAF, and other prominent boosters have agreed to and voted to buyout Nick Saban's contract with Alabama if Les Miles departs for Michigan. Of course, Saban would have to accept the offer, but apparently, the money is there and LSU is ready to roll if the opportunity truly arises.
Rumors are rampant right now, but my friend is pretty connected at Shaw, so I give this one some credence.

You all know that the systems Admins at Shaw are all in the know! :rotflmao: :rotflmao: :rotflmao: :rotflmao: :rotflmao: :rotflmao: :rotflmao: :rotflmao: :rotflmao: :rotflmao: :rotflmao:

If Big Jim wants to fund a buyout, see if he'll fund Rich Rodriguez's buyout. A much better "buy" IMHO

I don't think I've ever seen a "my friend said" rumor thread die so quickly in all my years on TD. I'm actually embarassed for the guy!

I agree. If that was his 27th post I hate to see the other 26.

This is about as obvious a line of bullcrap as I've ever seen on here. As has been stated here already, and on the Rant hundreds of times, Saban has NO buyout, so if these "in the know" sources really knew anything, they would certainly know that.
I'm not saying Saban doesn't go somewhere. He certainly could, its the nature of the profession (as you are learning). But it won't be under the scenario your "insider info" suggests.
EDIT: Now, if your insiders would like to buy out my contact with Kentucky in EA Sports NCAA Football, I would gladly accept. We've won 100+ straight games and 7 National Championships. Keep me in mind.

And this is why you cannot believe 99% of things posted on a damn message board. People who don't feel loved in their offline lives need love somewhere else. They fabricate a story, often backfiring in their face. It is truly unbelievable. My lord people... STOP MAKING STUFF UP!!!

systems administrator-glorified janitor

Please delete "I know somebody" rumors. Saban doesn't even have a buyout, so this discredits your "buddy".
Posted on 11/29/07 at 10:21 am to mbr2ooo
Then your connection sucks, as Saban does not have a buyout in his current contract.

I just love a post coming from someone that is associated with ULM wanting Saban at LSU! LSU losing to ULM is not something I would enjoy...that in itself is a reason not to hire Saban to LSU.

I can't believe people want him back. People who want to go back and live in the past have no vision and will always be mediocre. And people here make fun of Bama fans for living in the past.
