That sounds about right. That's going to happen to anyone.

What games did you watch? He posted up all the time.
all of them.
If you had watched all of them you would know this is not true. He was on the perimeter most of the time...and by most I am saying at least 65-70% of the time.

when did all these shots getting thrown back in his face occur?
I saw it plenty of times. I guess you are going to say he is physical inside and had the ability to finish plays inside also?

There is no denying his talent , but for me his lack of effort and intensity for 40 minutes EVERY game is the biggest letdown. To me truly elite players give 110% for the whole game defensively and offensively.

Simmons had zero issues in the post offensively against anyone. He was a dominant college force there when we decided to do it.
say what???
Unless he could actually get to the rim, which was usually from penetration facing the basket, he has limited post moves with his back to the basket. Jump hook? Didn't see it. Turn around jumper? Didn't see it. Jeez, he can't even shoot a left-handed layup - instead he drives left and puts up an off-balance right-handed shot. It's bizarre.
In transition, he'll be very good in the NBA because of his handle and quickness. I give him full credit for all of that.
But in the half court set, against NBA bigs who are stronger, quicker, and play much better defense than he saw this year, Ben will struggle. Especially since he won't be able to draw defenders outside with a credible jump shot threat.

Not even close. One of the biggest underachieving teams ive ever seen. It's not that hard for a "superstar" to lead a team to the ncaa tournament. It isn't as much a team sport as football is. Really underwhelming.

I was excited to see what this guy's game was gonna be like. Watched LSU a few times on TV this year. Bored stiff watching the guy. He just seemed to be going through the motions, waiting on the year to be up so he could get on with getting his money. I for one will not miss the guy when he's no longer a Tiger.

You think BS can handle the ball better than KD?

I've seen this a few times.

Name one true freshman out of high school who had no supporting role players around him that accomplished this task. All evidence and experts throughout the world has stated that it is impossible for one man to carry a team to a championship. Name one man who did this in the NBA? The question was did Ben Simmons live up to the hype and personally I think he did and he was just named freshman of the year. Jordan considered one of the greatest to ever play the game couldn't win a championship by himself let a lone a single game. So your saying 1 against 5 is even odds and one man can defeat 5 in a game of basketball on any level.

Not even close. Will have less than average pro career.
I see no reason for him to return to LSU, even if he played himself out of the #1 overall pick (which I don't think he did.) The problem I have is the guy has no defense, and seeing guys like Mickey and Martin struggling to get minutes in the NBA, I just don't see how he sees the floor at all as a rookie.(bases on lack of defense) And if that's even half true, is he really worthy of the #1 pick? (no doubt the 76er's will pick him and ruin any chance he has at development, of that I'm sure).
No doubt he has next level court vision and understands the game, but after seeing him poorly handle this adversity at LSU he's got a lot of growing up to do.

uh, we have some pretty good role players. Our roster isn't depleted.
True, we have little depth with our big guys, but we've got other decent pieces in place. It's not like our entire roster is shite.

Did you just compare Ben Simmons to Mickey and Martin?

No.
Defensively there is no comparison.
I merely suggested that Mickey and Martin are better defensively than Simmons.

Martin definitely is more polished than BS on offense...Hell Mickey even had a better jump shot

Hype is hype. No one ever lives up to it because everyone has a different standard of what that means.

quote:Your knowledge of the game of basketball is frightening. It is hilarious how obvious it is that most of our fans haven't seen an NBA game. KD averaged 1.3 assist per game compared to Simmons 5. It isn't an argument. 10/10 NBA scouts will tell you Simmons handles are better. It isn't a question. Nobody is saying he will be a better player, but Simmlns certainly has the better handles
