Navy will have the best base locations(if you love living near the coast).

Does that include Naval Station Great Lakes on the coast of Lake Michigan in the dead of winter?

That's why I backed out of the Navy at the last minute. I went halfway through the MEPS process with them. I wasn't sure I'd like ship life. Plus, it was the 90's and I didn't think we'd go to war or have to live in the dirt. The Army seemed like a safe bet.

Air Force or Navy. Also depends what his degree is in.

Also depends on what his interests are and what he wants to do which I don't think the OP has told us. If he wants to put rounds downrange the Marines or the Army might be more for him. If he wants a more marketable skill, although the Marines and Army has those as well, the Navy or AF may be more his speed. Really hard to determine what's best for him without knowing his motivations for joining.

In this case, I agree with you 100%. The whole premise of this thread, just shows how far we have fallen as a nation and society.

When I joined, years ago, there was no doubt, I was going to be poor,it was going to be hard,it was going to be life changing. I didn't get misled.

I read some of this stuff sometimes, and I would rather be taking convicts out of prison, and let them serve to regain their rights,at least they might understand what it is all about, and that it isn't supposed to be a free ride. It's about something important, not about your creature comforts.

I would pay money to go back and relive some of the toughest parts, those times that I really learned about myself.

Had a CSM tell me years ago- "It doesn't matter why you're here. It just matters that you're here. You all wrote the same blank check made payable to The United States of America for an amount of up to and including your life". That always stuck with me and I've never cared why a soldier joined as long as they served with honor.

Either is very promising. If he is more technical profession inclined, I would say Navy.

Air Force is more focused on Logistics and Intelligence, although there are similar options in either branch.

Honestly, I considered joining the the Air Force myself, but I think my GPA would make it difficult to become officer.

Depends.

If he's a pussy he should join the Air Force

If he likes to suck dick he should join the Navy

If he's literally retarded he should join the Army.

If he's incredibly good looking and wants to travel the world defiling civilizations and banging whores then he he should join the Marines.

I just don't understand the ones looking for the easiest life. It is the wrong place to look,it carries a heavy price.

I always think back to John F. Kennedy's words: Ask what you can do for Your Country. He didn't mention anything about cutting deals for housing and shite.
