I wonder if they let kids on ADHD meds or anti depressants join?

That stuff seems pretty common these days.

And I was a Marine on one that didn't really have to do any work. Those guys work their asses for long shifts and hardly any days off.

i was a marine on one as well. agree with your analysis on the Navy's nature of work while deployed. Ports were cool, but ship life really was a claustraphobic feeling.

Crime was pretty bad in the mid to late 90's. Yeah, it's gotten bad though. Even here at JBLM.

I came in post Gulf War. We've gone from hard partying after long field problems to having COO/EO/SHARP/any bullshite pounded into our brains until we're blue in the face. I honestly think Big Army and the politicians are trying to make us into some bullshite warrior/monk force.

Yeah, I'm in Tacoma. Drugs are a huge problem on JBLM. My training NCO OD'd with a needle in his arm in the parking lot before PT.

I came in during the late 90's. It definitely felt more squared away then. We actually did sergeants time training instead of a bunch of BS CO2.

That shite is issued like candy bars now. Tattoos are more frowned upon nowadays.

Yup, Thursday mornings, in 3/2ID at least with family time in the afternoon and early release. Those days were pretty good.

You remember the occasional crap on Fort Lewis in the 90's, mostly fights between the Bat and everyone else. The few instances that were big were the three murders in on post housing, the shootout in Tacoma. Heck, my CSM's son was killed in Parkland during drug deal gone bad.

I've heard all about this from my neighbors. I live one street over from the house. Guy still lives there and the streets are safe to walk on now.

I'm enlisted, but I do know as long as the job is available and you qualify you should be good to go. It would a lot easier if you went active duty first then transferred to the reserves.

It's amazing what a few drunk Rangers can do to clean up a neighborhood. They fired around 900 shots before the cops showed up.

Coming from an Army guy, I would advise him to join the Navy.

You get to wear that sweet white sailor suit if you join the Navy.

I get to wear it and I'm not in the navy. Makes the bitches equally as wet though

what is his degree?

does he understand being on a ship for months on end, with no legal right to have sex?

Navy is a terrible idea for a healthy human being.

and why is Air Force not considered?
