Stahhppp
It's called "recruiting"
You have to sell your program, no matter who you are or where you are located.

This might be my least favorite recruiting cliche.
These kids are trying to make the best decision for themselves and for their future.
I'm sure most of them would play hard for whoever they choose and have pride in their school.
Are you saying, hypothetically, if Cam Robinson was asked to leave Bama that you wouldn't want him at LSU? Even though he didn't want to be a Tiger?

You know what an anchor baby is?
Its when a guy gets with a girl so out of his league that his best option to retain the girl is to plant his seed.
We need to put our seed in a bunch of 17 and 18 year olds.

Hello Captain Obvious!!!!! Hahhaha just messing with you bro. 5 star or not don't want them if they don't want to be here. I of course can't not see any reason why they wouldn't.

You're taking this too personal my boy. Chill out and relax.

You're right. LSU shouldn't want players from other states because they don't show any loyalty!
Am I doing this right?

This is silly. Sounds like what Tamu fans were saying on 247 yesterday.

The board is so solid this time of year.

Especially our in state players. If they don't want to represent Louisiana, then let them go and focus on the players who love LSU. They are the ones who will play harder for the team and stay with the program.
I agree with your statement to a point. We have assembled pretty much the best cast of recruiters in all of college football on our coaching staff.
We still ought to go 100% after all blue chip recruits we want on the team, but if the coaching staff gets a feeling that a kid won't really consider LSU very seriously, maybe we ought to move on to other kids that will.
Our coaching staff doesn't have the time to waste on kids thy are pretty sure don't want to play here. They could better spend their time on kids that have genuine interest in playing here.
Is it possible with the awesome recruiters we have they could change a kid's mind? Sure it is, but I think they can get a good feel of who those kids are once they meet with them a few times. If their is a very slim chance of them changing their mind, we could probably spend our time better moving on to other recruits.
In the end I guess none of this is either here or there, the answer has to be we trust our awesome recruiters to figure this stuff out, and so far it seems to be working out just fine, the proof of which is our national recruiting rankings.

Really...two (2) recruiting thoughts I find simple minded (1) they gotta want to be a Tiger (duh) and (2) if they don't go to LSU, they can't get a job in the state when their school is over.
Simply put, it is great when a highly coveted kid wants to go to LSU, but as long as he doesn't disrespect LSU and goes through the process with class and honesty, I am okay with the outcome. These guys with the options they have should make the choice that they view as being in their best interests.

This is always an obvious point. The real issue is that we want all recruits to want to be tigers.

I've been way out of the loop. Has LSU recently lost an instate 4 or 5 star recruit?
