Im a Volvo guy, and my wife has been looking at the XC60 during their loyalty bonus period.

However, we have been looking at the Acura RDX as well. Today, I looked at the Lexus NX and was impressed. Anyone have any experience with it - looks like they just started making them in the '15 model year.

It's a glorified RAV 4 with a 4cyl turbo in it.

Too small for me personally. I like the look though, even though its size makes it a nonstarter for me.

I drove one before. It is pretty meh. My dad drives an LS that I drive regularly which is an awesome vehicle. I used to drive an LX for 3 years which was good as well. The nx model sucks though compared with other models.

Ive read it doenst handle nearly as well as its aggressive looks would make you think that it does. The engine also isnt as efficient as you would think. Basically, it is a pretty boring vehicle with nothing that sets it apart.

When they rolled it out I was intrigued. The almost universally bad reviews (bad value) scared me away. The RDX is the better buy imho at that price point.

RX is a much more comfortable vehicle, I found the NX to ride rougher and was obviously smaller on the inside. Not sure where you are located but I was able to get the RX in Houston for about the price I could get a NX in Baton Rouge. Price Leblanc would not negotiate any on their price, called a dealership in Houston and in the first phone call they beat Price Leblanc by $4,000

Buy a sedan. Luxury SUVs are garish and generally in poor style.

GF got one for her loaner car while hers was getting serviced. I thought it was pretty awesome.

If you could get the 16 Acura RDX AWD Advanced (refreshed) or the 15 Lexus RX AWD loaded (old design) for roughly the same price, which would you do?

Wife has one and she likes it. The power isn't a V8 but it's not bad. Dual climate control has saved an argument or two, the wife is always cold and I'm always hot. Back seat is a little small, reclining the seat back helps that. I don't regret getting it.

I love mine. I had a Cadillac SRX before. I wanted something small yet big enough to carry my Costco haul . I think it handles very well, and I keep it in eco mode pretty much all of the time. It accelerates significantly better than my old SRX. It is not as luxurious inside as the SRX, but it is nice, and a lot nicer than the Mercedes GLA I test drove.

Most all of my driving is on crappy Nola roads, and I don't find it to be a rough ride.

That said, I've put less than 3500 miles on it in a year, so it isn't like I'm tearing up the roads in it.

Sidebar to any potential Lexus buyers in NOLA or BR:

Price Leblanc owns both Lexus of Metairie and Lexus of Baton Rouge.

Don't expect to work either against the other.

The dealerships in Jackson and Mobile simply don't deal.

Park Place in Dallas (Plano or Grapevine) will smoke all of them^ in pricing.

I'd imagine the Houston or Atlanta Lexus markets are pretty competitive as to pricing as well, I don't have first-hand knowledge of them.
