Would love to see a ballistics test.

The two inch shells, which can increase capacity of tube fed guns, is also interesting.

I've seen 12 ga. mini slugs/shells before, but that thing looks devastating.

Looks real cheap.
You only need a few of them

Wonder what that would do to a hog
Posted on 1/21/16 at 1:29 pm to dawg23
I would buy some of those just for the shits and giggles of having them.

I prefer the ones that have the ball and chain.

Now that's something I can get on board with. I like that

But 1.25 oz. loads at 1600 ft/sec are gonna have a little bit of recoil. If I had a choice, I think I'd want to be shooting them through a gas-operated semi-auto (as opposed to something like a Stoeger coach gun, or one of these LINK).
But then again, I'm a wuss.

Do they still make buck n ball shotgun rounds?

I'm sure somebody still does. But I'm not sure how practical it is.
In most (not all) of the tests I've seen with 12 gauge "buck & ball" ammo, the buckshot spreads out so widely that I'd be worried about (a) getting very few rounds actually on target and (b) hitting an unintended target.
The makers of the Oath ammo that I linked in the OP claim 2" groups at 25 yards with unrifled barrels and 2" groups at 100 yards with rifled barrels. If that is even close to being true, it's awfully impressive.

Wonder what chokes you'd need for those?

Mini shells are not very reliable in a tube fed gun. Would not use for self defense.

Kinda unneeded.
A normal slug kills everything it hits from the knee up.
I would be afraid that the shorter shell would have misfeed problems.

Reminds me of RIP ammo from a few years ago...
