OK, here are all the names proposed in the previous thread. I'll update if any others are offered.
Current College Head Coaches
1. Gene Chizik, ISU
2. Chris Peterson, Boise State
3. Jm Grobe, Wake Forest
4. Glen Mason (former HC @ MN)
5. Tommy Tuberville, Auburn
6. Rich Rodriguez, West Virginia
7. Gary Pinkel, Missouri
8. Steve Spurrier, South Carolina
9. Brian Kelly, Cincinnati
10. Mark Dantonio, Michigan State
11. Mike Leach, Texas Tech
12. Nick Saban, Alabama
13. Jeff Jagodzinski, Boston College
14. Jim Leavitt, South Florida
15. Butch Davis, UNC
16. Jeff Tedford, Cal
17. Dennis Erickson, ASU
Current College Coordinators
18. Will Muschamp, DC, Auburn
19. Bo Pelini, DC, LSU
20. Jimbo Fisher, OC, FSU
21. Gary Crowton, OC, LSU
Current NFL Coaches
22. Jon Gruden, Tampa Bay
23. Jack Del Rio, Jacksonville Jags
24. John Fox, Carolina Panthers
25. Jim Mora Jr., Seattle Seahawks
26. Bill Cowher, retired
27. Bobby Petrino, Atlanta Falcons
28. Mike Shannahan, Denver Broncos
29. Norm Chow, OC, Tennessee Titans
My personal opinion is that Saban will not and should not come back. Rodriguez and Tuberville are long shots, as are all of the NFL guys except Del Rio and Petrino. If Mason was any good he would have a job already (assuming he wants one).

LSU needs either a "Louisiana" guy (e.g., Del Rio?) or a guy whose alma mater or roots would not be as big of a draw as far as coaching destinations go (e.g., Kelly, Central Michigan?).
Even with Del Rio, you might wonder if he would have his eye on USC? I keep hearing about his daughters and LSU, so maybe that's something.
LSU is firmly entrenched among the CFB elite, IMO, and shouldn't have to go through this every three or four years.

i agree if we are a top 10 job like i hear from the talking heads, why are we going through this?
Dietzel left in 61
Arnsparger was just "going to talk" to Miami left late 80's
Notre Dame wanted to talk to DiNardo (should have let them)
Lord Saban...well we know
Miles.... TBA
An elite team should not go through this. We look like a stepping stone job.

Problem with him is that he's an NFL guy. He'll most likely get some interviews soon.

Jason Garrett...Dallas Cowboys OC
The other guys have been there, done that, so maybe they might entertain the thought. Not Garrett, though.

I really think Brian Kelly will be the next great find. He is a diamond in the rough. Look at what he has done at Cincinnati.

2. Chris Peterson, Boise State

Nick Saban-Alabama (I'd assume we'd consider Judas to give the blessing at the Last Supper??)

What exactly has Del Rio done to distinguish himself.

How about Mike Gundy from Oklahoma State? Should we not go back to the same well? I know he doesn't have the resume Miles did, but at least he stands up for his players.

WHY do we need a Louisiana guy? That is the kind of crap that usually gets you in trouble.
HAD to have a Skip guy. So we got Smoke. Are you one of those homers who wants to keep it in state? Who wants to stay in same cell with EWE cuz he's family? please.

where he is from should have no bearing on if we hire him or not. Homer hires usually get you in trouble more often than not.
