It is mind blowing how people think this movie is the best of the series.

Luke finding about his father is the only good thing in this movie

Revenge of the Sith is probably better

STFU

We get early force usage from Luke

We get Battle of Hoth

We get sweet Millenium Falcon exploits

We see Vader force choke some fools

We meet the emperor, and see Vader's fricked up head

We get Yoda along with heavy life lessons and sweet jedi training

We get cloud city

We get Luke/Vader duel and "I am your father"

STFU

Now that the prequels exist, Luke finding out about Vader doesn't mean shite because it was inevitable.

It was a major boom back in the day.

I won't bother with the rest of your weird shite because it's embarrassing for you and it just seems cruel to put more of a spotlight on it.

Get rid of those dammed ewoks and it would maybe be a tie.

And most of that has been spoiled for anyone that didn't see it back in the day. I can see where people that weren't around in the 80's don't get it's impact.

It's the correct opinion too. The negative impact of the Ewoks is vastly overstated (plus lots of stuff on Endor is actually good - the bike riders are at least as good as the silly AT-ATs.

Re the story, ROTJ has way more compelling scenes between Vader, Luke and the Emperor and combinations thereof.

Vader's funeral pyre at the end is my favorite 60 seconds of the entire series.
