I'll pull for Clemson but I'm not excited about it. This one looks like a Bama blowout.

I really don't get this, especially in the wake of 1/9. Who cares about the SEC? The fact that you are OK with things that would strengthen Bama at LSU's expense solely for SEC prestige is mind boggling.

Really? I've been commuting to Greenville from Houston for work the last 2-1/2 years and all the ones I've met respect the SEC as a whole and it was a major coup a few years back when they beat LSU..........I've had the opposite experience, and Geaux Clemson!

Clemson needs to slap 'Bama around right out of the gate. Just like Utah did in the Sugar Bowl. Don't let up and pull out all the stops in the playbook.

Obviously the big issue for LSU is to somehow catch Alabama. I don't think Clemson winning hurts LSU at all, any more than LSU winning hurts Clemson.

Pull for Alabama: the only real reason would be for Saban to feel like he's done everything, get bored, and move on/retire. Losing this game would probably push his end date further back.

Pull for Clemson: exposes more holes in the Alabama mystique, maybe some recruits decide they don't want to go there. Another ACC win (2nd in 3 years) convinces recruits in the Southeast that they can go to non-SEC schools and still win; watering down the SEC talent base (this wouldn't affect LSU or the other Western schools as much as it would the Eastern schools).
