Dont you remember how bad basketball was in the 90's? You should be thankful for this right now.

At least we're getting good players and being competitive. You can't expect us to be on the level of Kentucky.

Thankful for something that looks just like it, only we know the talent is several times better than those teams you refer to in the 90's? Why would we be thankful for that.

The defense the last few games, specifically Sunday, was quite possibly the worst I've seen in my life at this level given the athleticism we have and all other factors considered.

Please, I beg to show some progress and improvement tonight.

if jones has a losing SEC record this season, it's all but over for him at LSU

Why do the players have to show progress and improvement? It's more about the players getting a quality education and becoming good men than wins-losses.

It's really bad when having MORE talent gets you fired.

But I wonder, just wonder, if somehow someway this LSU Basketball team turns it around how many of these talking heads will man up and give the coach some credit

It would be nice, but yeah, no chance. The problem is that we look so awful right now that such a dramatic turnaround seems unlikely.

My problem is that the media never liked Johnny in the first place. It's ridiculous how harsh they were on him last season when he accomplished what eevryone expected of him preseason

Long story short I thought he did a great job up until this season, but I'm shocked at how unprepared we are as a team this early on. I'm going to wait until the season plays out and at worst enjoy Ben Simmons

They need to not worry about football. That will iron out.

Take that buyout money and use it to hire the best BB coach to equal other top programs. A top tier coach will draw the top recruits.

Not a slam, The Mick, but just wondering if you were around when Dale Brown was coaching LSU.

He should be given at least one more season to turn it around.

If he can't make the NCAA with this team, he should be fired. No way around it.

ministration just doesn't place the premium on basketball like it has on baseball and to a lesser extent, football. JJ can recruit. He needs to be an assistant.

I was telling one of my coworkers this the other day. I'm ok with even paying him the same money if he can continue to recruit at a very high level. I have been watching our HS team this season and it is refreshing to see a coach who game plans for his opponent and makes adjustments throughout the game. He's an infinitely better coach than JJ.

JJ sucked big time as an assistant coach for Dale Brown. Then he left and I never heard of him again until he was in the running for the LSU coaching gig. I don't follow bb much.

I was against the hire because he sucked before.

After he got hired I was hopeful that he had learned while away. And apparently he has... some.

I don't like what I am seeing on the defensive side of the ball. The offensive side doesn't look so horrible to me even though that is where the Memphis show zeroed in on.

Just my two cents from an admitted non-basketball expert.

Incidently this lack of coaching ability is exactly what got Dale Brown fired.

He had the most talented team ever assembled in college. That team ranked right up there with some of the best teams ever in the pros!!! And he still couldn't win it all.

So Dale was eventually fired and we have had worse coaches ever since.

JJ seems to be Dale Brown version 2.0!

It will take more than one bad season for coach jones to be dismissed. Someone in an earlier post said, there are too many that like him. That's true.
The team had a good season last year. One bad year doesn't get you canned at LSU.
You don't have people in place with enough backbone to go against the old blood.

Every year before this one there was a reason for certain struggles. First year he actually overachieved with a so so roster that TJ left behind. Second year he had JOB who while was a great player at LSU didn't really play CJJ style and last year they had zero quality depth. This year he has talent, although young, and depth but is still struggling.

I believed he deserves this year to prove he can win with a talent like Simmons but so far he has not proved that.

Johnny will be run off. Then the crosshairs train on Manieri.
