I used to have one in .40 but got rid of it because I ended up hating the caliber. I wouldn't mind one of the new threaded models in 9mm.

What does threaded mean/ do different?

I have the Xd 3.5" in 9mm and I love it. Fits my hand perfect and it's not to heavy and balanced nicely.

Much better looking than a glock and fits my hand better.

Which record do you own them both for?

I've reviewed one of the 5.25" competition models (ChatRabbit's) and it is a nice shooter. The sight picture is super sharp and I think the metalwork on the slide is very precise. A lot of people also don't realize XDs have internal extractors - I never noticed it until I reviewed one.

The things I didn't like - the grip has no taper at all (same width throughout), the trigger reset is pretty soft (not as bad as a stock M&P though), and the guide rod is not captured. But these are all pretty minor complaints.

Overall it's an excellent choice.

Most people tend to agree that even the standard XD has a better trigger than the Glock and groups tighter.
