I seriously want to know what you idiots think an athletic director does.

Then Miles can just tell him to F off.
Alleva has no control anymore. What is Alleva going to do?

From what I saw Saturday night Alleva doesn't even have the clout to fire a janitor let alone make demands to Les Miles.

sure, similar to the way Obama demands the national debt to go away.

Doesn't matter what Alleva wants. Alleva tried to take Miles out, and lost. This is Les Miles University.

I am not sure I believe this too much. The AD does have control. He can evaluate the performance of the coach. He can also approve and disapprove contracts.

Miles went ahead and put Alleva's balls in the trophy case.

If Miles doesn't take this last two weeks of criticism and the loss of his job as a need to make changes than he has to realize his time is nearing an end. It was a done deal on Wed and if he doesn't change things he will be gone next year. In the big picture, is one more year and then getting fired that much different than what just happened. The YOU BETCHA comment Sat night told me all I needed to know. 2016 will be Les Miles last year if it is status quo on offense next year.

Yes, and Miles agreed to change the offense, per multiple sources.
Miles will make all of the necessary moves - a new OC, a few new offensive assistants, maybe a few public promises about 'improved passing success' with a derivative of 'enjoy' thrown in...
It won't mean the offense will actually change, of course, but things should look different on paper heading into the 2016 season.

I think not for two reasons:
1. you have to let a coach coach his own way (i.e., what he believes in)
2. CLM can tell Alleva to pounds salt after that debacle. Miles will fix what Miles thinks needs fixing on his own terms.

Les' response
"or what? you'll fire me? LOL"
Yeah we're fricked

Why not? If Miles doesn't win 10-11 games next year he is gone anyways. If he does then Alleva cant touch him. Alleva has zero control right now. He played with fire and got burned.

going into A&M game his job was already decided(at least that is what everyone says) we put on an awesome offensive display and he kept his job...does that answer your question
Posted on 11/30/15 at 2:43 pm to Storm22
He didn't say anything like that at the press conference, so probably not.
Posted on 11/30/15 at 2:45 pm to Storm22
Who do you think has the power?
Posted on 11/30/15 at 2:45 pm to Storm22
NOTHING will change. Even if it changes on the surface, when under pressure, it's human nature to revert back to old habits. Miles has been coaching in an antiquated way for 36 years. NOTHING will change, except maybe the price of tickets going up.

The mess only made it easier, he wouldn't change anyway. He's owed a lot of $$$. You can't be this hard headed without having some balls.
And right now he's got them on Alleva's chin.
