I will freely admit it. I am totally jealous I don't make 4.5 million dollars a year to coach football (or do anything else for that matter).

I appreciate your vote of confidence. And it wouldn't be the first time.

When people say they feel sorry for Miles, they aren't talking about money.

People still can be treated with a little respect. This has to do with more than money at this point.

Some are without thinking about the money. When you consider the money the thinking/conversation changes for many people.

Regrettably, I think we needed a new coach.
Les Miles loves LSU. And Louisiana.
This is devastating to him and his family.
The outrageous and unfair comments made about him and his players ( and the fans booing both at home games) is not excused by the amount of his salary.
It is classless.
I, too, have concerns about the way this is handled. By one or two BOS members! by a handful of anonymous boosters! and by many of our fans.
It's turned into a lynching for some...

And he pays $260k in state income tax every year. So he gives more back to LA than any of you clowns.

If you figure in outside revenue it is probably north of 5 million a year.

Nobody should feel bad for someone that makes a lifetime of income each year. Lets say you make $100k/yr. That is 50 years of income for someone who makes a good living.

The guy is laughing all the way to the bank.

At 62 he can do whatever he wants financially. How many posters on this site have that kind of freedom and income?

I wish I had Les' problems...

Never did understand the boo whooing on Miles behalf. These coaches know damn well what they are getting into when they sign on. Produce or get fired, bottom line. Miles has not produced the last two years therefore getting fired is what should be expected.

Evidentlybtoug Abe never been a part of dome thing bigger than yourself. The money is one thing. It's the connections and running a program that can't be replaced.

And let's not even mention that the buyout amount wouldn't be near what it is if Les hadn't held LSU hostage with nonexistent job offers.

And yeah, I get it; that's just business. And that's fine. But by that token, some of you need to knock off the canonization movement to turn him into St. Les the Martyr as well.

Right. Those nonexistent job threats he used against the program "he is in love with" plus lets just see how fast he and his family vanish from Louisiana in a cloud of smoke...
