The national media and fans are pretty baffled that this is even a possibility

The same national media that "ranks LSU too low" and picks against them to win all the time?

LSU loses a game and they tumble in the rankings. Several times this year LSU won and didn't even move up in the polls. Teams behind us jumped us. The national media does not view LSU as a well oiled machine.

A declining fan base and contributions is almost impossible to reverse, (LSU basketball) therefore, whatever the buyout its a good investment IF the trend is downward in the financial elements of the program, We wouldn't know that but somebody does.

You do realize that majority of the Athletic programs got updated facilities under Les. Being consistent floated a shite load of money to the AD. They arent hurting. LSU has been leading the sec in ticket sales, this season may be diff, but because the expansion to Kyle Field.

What ever your feelings are on Les you cant deny that the success of the team under him has brought in a ton of money that has helped every athletic program at LSU.

I don't see what that has to do with them thinking it'd be ridiculous to fire a coach with Miles' resume

You don't throw all of that away over a two game losing streak

The two game losing streak is just the straw that broke the camels back.

It's the 5 game losing streak that people are mostly upset about.

Oh I agree. For the record, I'm not necessarily on board the fire Miles train. Just saying that the frustrations have been building for a long time. And I very much understand it.

The program has been in a decline since 2011. It's not just this years 2 game losing streak. It's about championships, something we have not tasted in some time now.

I think Les Miles is a stand up guy, but also understand the fans frustration level. Tough spot as I love LSU, but also don't want to see what Miles has done here diminished simply in the name of getting a new coach. Crazy times.

I know a lot of you don't know what to do with yourselves if you can't post on here to bash the program or Miles, but why don't you step back, take a breathe, and see how the season plays out. Getting worked up over absolutely no possibility of change right now makes no sense.

Dude. Bite your tongue. This is the most fun the site has been in a long long time. Our more critical (nega-tigers is such a bad word) brethren were held down by The Man way too long. The tit for tat with other teams' fanbases during the winning streak was weak sauce compared to watching the our own fanbase go at our coaches, players, administrators and each other.

Besides which, you know how many psychology theses on group think, delusional crowd behavior, message board syndrome and the like would have to be abandoned if the Rant started behaving rationally? That would be very unfortunate this close to the end of the semester.

8-0, 6-2, 5-3 & 4-4 in the SEC since '11. We have to win one more game to finish 5-3 which would be a slight improvement over last season. If we lose the next 2 games how can anyone feel the program is not in decline. The program was in decline before the season started. Maybe we finish 6-2 & that's a sign that the program is back on the upswing. I just don't see us beating OM and A&M. I hope I'm wrong

Miles is too accomplished
so he can average 3-5 loses the last 5 years just because he racked up wins his first 3 years with sabans players?

Yes we are ranked 15 but does anyone really believe that we are better right now than the other 100+ plus teams ranked behind us?

I don't think he's going anywhere but the next two games are crucial. I do believe that.

I sure don't want him to get fired but there needs to be some change on offense, I don't want us to turn into an air raid team like Baylor or something like that but something has to change offensively.

I think Miles is a good face for the school.

I agree with this except it does seem that the rumors may have more legs than usual.
