I'm not really arguing one way or the other, but shouldn't we also look at what happened when Florida allowed Muschamp to stay?

He would be a great fit for Georgia.

He beats Fla & SC consistently(Richter cant) & GA doesn't play Bama every year.

He could run the East.

15-9 SEC record from 2012-2014. He's 4-2 now but on a 2 game losing stream. 20-12 if he wins out. Not worth what we are paying for not only our head coach but our assistants either.

You split and you're 19-13 over the past 4 years. That's an average of less than 1 game above .500 in your Division each year.

Meanwhile, not counting this year, the SEC Champion has come from your Division and gone 8-1 (including SECCG), 8-1, 8-1.

So you're comparing a 7-1 regular season SEC record by the SEC Champion to a 5-3 SEC record from Miles at LSU.

That's not competing for championships. That's barely above average. Over the past four years. Which includes 4 straight losses to Alabama and now 2 straight losses to Arkansas.

That's a distrubingly negative trend towards the mean.

fire miles and I guarantee you that its strengthens saban's hand in la. with all the contacts he has and his winning program. if that happens, we won't beat bama until saban retires.

so we have to wait until Saban retires to fire Miles? What a defeatist attitude.

How about hiring a coach that actually gets us to play up to our potential - then maybe we actually compete with Saban.

There's always a risk to letting Miles walk......and the downside is that you might get someone much worse....but.....you also might get someone much better.....it's a crap shoot.....

Also.....a "name" coach might not be a lot better, either......South Carolina hired Spurrier to win a championship.....it never worked out....

Well-looks like from the majority of these post- you have your answer- If you take out the rent-a-wins and just look at the SEC, over the last several years Miles has slipped into mediocrity. If he loses these last two, he will have slipped into a losing coach in his own conference. The answer is emphatically YES.

Yes, IF the program is declining. Bobby Bowden needed to go when he did although he had tons of success. No coach or player "deserves to leave on their own terms" if they are no longer producing at an acceptable level, however that level is determined by the employer.

I have to lean towards this. I don't want him fired but he seems to be losing his team.

I saw the replay of the Arkansas game last night and you can see it on the players faces.

I don't know what the answer is at this point but doing nothing sure isn't going to help.

Some here would honestly rather see the team reach Arkansas levels where we are going winless in the conference and then fire Miles. Why not trim the fat while you can still move around? Why wait til you're 600 pounds and stuck in a bed with not many options. If you truly think about it,we have been an average team since 2008. 2011 was an anomaly. We were average in 08 and 09 and 10 and we have been average since 2011. He's not getting any better. Why would you want a coach that doesn't even know why his team always implodes in November and goes from potential title contender to lucky to be in a January bowl game. I don't care how we play these next two games. Miles needs to not be the head coach anymore. The program will only get worst.

Not when you have built a top 5 program. WINNING WHAT? What has he won lately? NOTHING!
