What are you guys paying for firewood these days? I moved into a new house over the summer and now have a wood burning fireplace whereas my last house had a gas insert. The wife loves a fire and I'm now in the market for wood.

250 from the guy in ponchstoula delivered and stacked for a pickup truck load which I think is a half cord. We burn just about every night when it gets cold

Dont go to starvation landing next to post office, 4. I know its convenient but the wood I bought last year and year prior to that isnt seasoned and barely burned in my fireplace with gas lit fire rolling underneath.

I used to sell for $200/chord which was cheap. You should be able to find it around that price though.

I was quoted $250/ cord delivered which I thought was a bit high. It sounds like I've been out of the wood buying business for a while now and that price is in line. Did you retire your lumberjack equipment?

250 delivered is a good price if it's good stuff.

I still have my stuff. Didn't split any this year though. Don't have any for myself.

I've been outside most of the day building my fire wood cover and mowing the yard for the last time. I left the phone number of the guy I talked to at my FIL's last night and will send it when I get it.

I'm also going to check with KingRanch and see about his contact. I passed by Starvation Landing a while ago and giggled at their firewood and the replies here.

$200 is a good price if you are getting a true cord of wood(128 cubic ft.). Most of the people selling firewood are selling "face cords", which is about 1/3 of a true cord or some other non-standard unit of measure like a rick or truckload.

You're gonna have to cut up the Christmas tree to get it in that fireplace.
