could have finished stronger but storming out to a 30+ point lead against a scrappy team that won't quit in the season opener yada yada yada. lots of fouls, college refs are terrible.

simmons may be the best passer i've seen at this level in at least 12 years. it's like watching a younger pre-injury chris webber.

don't forget about quarterman. he and ben out there on the run are two playmakers who can also be the good kind of selfish and finish

if sampson is going to make shots more often than not, when hornsby returns, bruh...

elbert still needs work on his hands and mobility but being able to rely on him for a few minutes each half would be nice. you run into a team with a legit post threat and there's your answer. malone still looks a long ways off from contributing

back to ben, if he can be a consistent rebounder for this team (maybe not kevin durant at UT consistency but in the neighborhood) then that's going to go a long way in helping hold shite down till victor is eligible and beyond.

blakeney is explosive af and i suspect he'll have more good games than bad. he can use his agility to crash the boards a la rondo at UK

i want to see epps play a lot, but he might not be ready to play big minutes as an undersized 4. he can be a spark plug though

we still suck at free throws. these guys'll just have to be gamers and knock a few down

these guys will have a few off nights where they get too helter skelter and caught up in their own style, but they should be ready to play with anyone come march

tl;dr this team has scary-good potential. difference between these guys and the last two teams which were basically cockteases: simmons and the intangibles he brings to the team. you've got (:cough: arguably :cough:)the best player in cbb to play through and he's surrounded by guys that can shoot and make plays. there aren't just good athletes with raw potential on this team, they are ballers.

My thread got whacked so I am not going to say what I thought about a game that should have been at a minimum 40 pt win.

I would like to see Brother Blakeney pull trigga a bit less and Son Simmons pull it a bit more

Recruiting is everything. The 3 best players on the floor were...

Ben Simmons
Antonio Blakeney
Brandon Sampson

Well didn't realize basketball was going to have to deal with the same dimwits as football. Guess being relevant again brings out the low IQ bandwagon fans...

Team had some sloppy moments but it was to be expected on the opener. Liked a lot of what I saw with Sampson really standing out more than I thought he would. With Simmons having such great vision, these shooters could have field days out there at times

TQ has to get a better shoe/sock color combo. The hand-me-down look is terrible

There's a lot to be excited about. This is a team with crazy natural talent and if we can hit 3s consistently, we will be a tough team to beat.

The one thing I was looking forward to that I was bummed we didn't see more was the full court press. I want to see who we are when we apply 3/4 court pressure for a full half.

Simmons is too unselfish. I still think this team is a year away. Simmons also gotta get tough quickly. I think Kentucky and other good teams runs over this team.

Just wait until people start complaining about shooting 3s and not posting up Simmons.

Blakeney is a scorer. If he's in the game he will shoot, no toning that down.

Exactly who's going to lead this "next year" team. Simmons, Blakeney, Hornsby possibly even TQ will be gone.
