No acceptance. That is a loser's mentality. Bama is not invincible. Saban is not God. He has many faults as a person and as a coach he can be beaten. Urban Meyer and Hugh Freeze in the building. We just don't match up right now until we even out the recruiting. We are certainly trying very had and it has been largely successful this recruiting season. Let it play out.

He cares about OM very much. They beat his team last year and this year was revenge time for them. They learned from their mistakes in that game. With a week off they had time to recharge and use their five stars on D to their advantage.

Les will not win again against Saban unless he learns to spread out their D and stops trying to run straight at the teeth of their D.

I like your optimism. But I just can't deny it anymore. We are their Super Bowl (likewise, they are our Super Bowl). Saban does not treat every game like a Super Bowl. But ever since 9-6, it is us.

It is actually pretty liberating accepting that. Because now I realize that at 7-1, we are at the absolute ceiling of our potential at this point in the season. We also still have a chance to accomplish all of our goals for the season.

There is a middle ground. I'd love to run an offense like Jimbo does at FSU.

Jimbo's offense is like Michigan St's offense (which I love) with more talented recruits. However, Michigan St has put out similar offensive talent in the NFL compared to Jimbo's FSU.

Still does not mean we can't beat them. With our recruiting resources we must work harder to match them. Acceptance is a loser's mentality. Learn from mistakes and move on. But don't accept failure!

The issue is scheme. Ole Miss runs a completely different system and implement a lot of run/pass options that make the defense commit to one responsibility. It's an unorthodox system and that's why Bama can't handle it. Ole Miss was extremely lucky as well.

Alabama made 5 turnovers against OM......when you do that.....you lose no matter who you play.

He's not saying we can't beat them. He's saying we get the best team in the nation's best shot year in year out. Hell, even when we've both had contenders and beaten them we still had to do it again in the NCG. Next year lines up nice to get back at them with who we have returning (it's our 2012 team if TM7 doesn't get kicked off). It's an incredibly unique situation between the 2 teams and being in the same division.

Ole Miss must did something right with their D schemes to get 5 INTs.

I'm impressed. You have actually seen the LSU game plans against Bama.
Are you a coach?
How did you get a copy?
Tell us what is in it.
Thanks

It's called adapting your game plan to the opponents weaknesses, not being stubborn and bashing your head against the wall thinking something will change.

Miles brought in a guy like Cam who has his exact same philosophies and he likely heavily influences the game plan and play calling. Of course nothing is changing.

Wow another guy that have actually seen the LSU game plan. Where did you get your copy? I don't understand how so many of the LSU game plan copies have been leaked to so many people.

We don't need to go all spread, but we need to use every look that we can to our advantage and open things up. Bama knew exactly what we were doing almost every time because we do the same stuff over and over.
Multiple defensive players for LSU last night said that Bama came out with a lot of looks they had not seen before on film and Bama used that to their advantage to confuse the D and move the football. That is coaching.

You don't need to see Miles' game plan to predict what plays he would run most of the time. It's basically run to the middle left, run to the middle right, run straight ahead, then kick.

They were unlucky the year before that with that horrible missed call before half that Bama used to score a TD on and go up 14-3, but Ole Miss beat them anyway because they kept Bama's D guessing.

Guys give it up. The other posters have made excellent arguments. Bama can't be beat because they have better recruits. Fact is, they don't even coach over there at Bama, coaching makes no difference once the 5* athletes lineup. If we had as many 5* athlete's as Bama we could actually save some dough and lay off the entire coaching staff.

Anyways, even if we lucked up and did beat Bama--the universe would require that we would lose 3 other games (see Ole Miss). And we don't want that guys! No other option. Logic boom!

OM gets credit on TOs. TOs are two way streets. The offensive players makes a mistake and the defensive player capitalizes by being in the right position and following their assignments. Its not just flukes and bad luck. A fumble can be recovered by the team who fumbles. The opposing D should get credit for pouncing on loose balls and securing them. Defensive schemes and getting players in the proper position can lead to TOs when capitalizing on the opposing offense's mistakes.

2 of the fumbles were by Bama's kick returner.

If a return man can't recover his own fumble the other team gets it almost every time b/c they're all running full speed at the return man and his blockers are headed upfield.

So the "give OM credit for masterful D to cause 5 TO's" rhetoric is not valid b/c muffing a kick is an unforced error.

How many times will Saban coached teams muff 2 kicks, give up 3 additional TO's and give up a long TD off a dude's helmet in one game? (and still only lose by 6)

Bama also won't take OM lightly again. I will bet big money that Freeze never beats Saban again as long as they're at their current jobs.

OM as Bama killer is a fluke and it will not continue, spread scheme or not IMO.
