Last years result was a closely contested game, but this years was one which Ole Miss dominated Bama before the gumps made a late surge. The issue is that Hugh Freeze, a coach with considerably less talent at Ole Miss, has been able to consistently beat our rival. Les Miles has a much better team, but has put forth a lackluster showing against the gumps. The issue is coaching because it's obvious that Bama needs to be spread out to lose, not ran right up the middle the entire game...

It doesn't matter how they win its that they win. We can't beat them, and Ole Miss can. We need to adapt.

And Ole Miss' spread offense that likes to throw the ball all over the field and never run the ball has gotten them 3 losses already. One to Memphis. And Ole Miss is a very talented team.

LSU is built to beat 95% of the teams in the country. Alabama just isn't one of them. Yet, we still have competed closely with them a handful of times since Saban turned Alabama around.

I'd rather do what we do.

However, what someone posted earlier about adapting our pro-style offense a little (like Saban did at Alabama) and running more short passes and screens would be a good idea. But changing to an all-out spread offense isn't what I want to see.

Ole Miss has 3 losses so far this season eventhough they beat Alabama. I'd rather be where we are at 7-1. If we are tied in two weeks, then I'll be jealous of Ole Miss.

It's no secret that spread teams give Bama the most trouble. We don't need to go to the full wide-open spread, I just wish we could incorporate more principles that would allow us to move the LOS and put pressure on linebackers once in a while. Very similar to what tOSU did to Bama during the semi-final last year.

Our talent will get us through the majority of our schedule every year regardless of our scheme. But our scheme will always hinder us vs. them. And they are whats in the way of our ultimate goal.

Freeze seems to know how to beat Saban. I want him should he become available for Cam's job. However, I doubt that Miles would beat Saban again with all the talented recruits and the best assistants available because Miles makes the ultimate game plan A with no alternative plan B.

There is a middle ground. I'd love to run an offense like Jimbo does at FSU.

Ole Miss is doing alright versus ooc opponents considering they have less talents than we do.

I'd love to run an offense like Saban does at Alabama.

Bring in someone and let them do their own thing. Just not some spread guy who doesn't fit with the mold of your ball control, defensive team.

Miles brought in a guy like Cam who has his exact same philosophies and he likely heavily influences the game plan and play calling. Of course nothing is changing.

Lsu could hire Kiffen but I think it is Miles to decide the offensive game plan, run, run, run, so it wouldn't be matter who the oc is.

Alabama doesn't give a frick about Ole Miss. Saban builds his team to beat us because we are their biggest threat every year. As long as Saban puts their bye week before us and builds his team to beat us, they will continue to beat us. That is just how it's going to be. Doesn't matter who our coach is.

bullshite.

Ole Miss has 3 players that are a lock for the 1st round, and all might go top 10. Nkemdiche and Tunsil are both locks to go in the top 10. And Treadwell is arguably the top WR in the draft and could def go top 10 as well. Evan Engram is 1 of, if not the top, TE prospect and will be gone by day 2. And Tony Connor was a potential 1st rounder as well before tearing his meniscus. Still will be gone by day 2 of the draft.

I'm not saying Ole Miss is more talented than we are. But they do not have "considerable less talent" than we do. Vandy and Kentucky are "considerably less talented" than we are. Ole Miss isn't. They are def top 4 in the SEC based on talent alone.

No, it does matter. Teams can be built to beat Bama. If you have the same type of team than theirs you must outrecruit them. Problem is no one has been doing that the past few years. If you are a spread team you must out scheme theme. It helps to have a freakish WR like Treadwell too.

No. It does not matter. If Nick Saban treated Ole Miss like he does us, Alabama would be beating them like they do us. At some point, you just need to accept that as long as Saban sees us as his biggest threat, we don't have a chance. I've finally accepted this.
