T bob article on last night's game

Throughout Saturday’s game, all the various social media feeds I am required to watch were inundated with “LES MILES SUCKS” and “TERRIBLE PLAY CALLING” themed messages. While this isn’t a surprise, I find it frustrating, as I feel these comments completely miss the point as to why LSU got dominated offensively. LSU didn’t lose because of their game plan. They lost because they got DOMINATED up front. You can’t suddenly change your offense in the middle of a season. A power running team doesn’t wake up one day and suddenly decide they are going to run the spread. LSU’s offensive success is predicated on running the ball successfully in order to set up big plays in the passing game. In order to run the ball successfully, the offensive line has to be able to open some holes, something that they were completely unable to do in this game. LSU’s passing attack could have perhaps made some plays - however the pass blocking wasn’t much better either as the line gave up multiple sacks and pressures throughout the night. Coming into the game, we said the offensive line was the X-factor as far as deciding the outcome of this game and that proved to be true. Unfortunately for LSU fans, it was the offensive line’s exceedingly poor play that led to the loss.
Solid analysis from the big guy

T-Bob gets it. Its the OL people! They just got dominated and were not mentally and physically prepared to deal with what they were facing with. More so mental IMHO. Nothing seriously wrong with our D. They have weaknesses like all units. But that is not why we lost. TOP stats tells it all

This is BS. We didn't run straight up the middle against Florida. We used misdirection and even a couple trick plays. So why so vanilla vs Bama?
I can't take people seriously when they believe you either run the I formation or the spread and there is no in between.

Some "fans" aren't going to like this

Hard to argue with what he says there.

Very good analysis by T-Bob.

....of course, I was called dumb for blaming the OL last night and not the coaches.
God forbid anyone blames the players on the field.

Misdirection works when OL blocks. It all starts upfront. When the LOS is pushed back two yards in seconds, mis-direction won't help much.

Perfect analysis. That is exactly what happened.

He's become my go-to voice of reason. Former player, played for Miles, very well-spoken, very objective takes whether it's good or bad, etc.

I heard the reason we lost is that T-Bob and Harris got into a fight in the locker room before the game....

And to add, quit frankly I'll trust T-Bob's analysis over our resident rantards any day. The guy played the game and understand what he is talking about.

Remember when the wider receiver, QB and RB all ran into each other?
We got dominated on the lines. Everybody was puckering the whole game.

If T-bob is correct that means the 1/9 game was lost because of our OLine. Total BS. We ran out of spread against Auburn and were very unpredictable!! If we ran the same style of offense. Last night we could have moved the ball consistently against Bama!

Can't wait to see all the rantard couch coaches tell him he's wrong.

Okay, then we will always lose to Alabama with this strategy.
Eta and what about a draw or screen to counter their defense?

Not a chance. Players are immune to any criticism here on this board.
We just blame the coaches for losses and give them zero credit for wins. That's the Lsu "fan" way.

Agree with everything he says, but I wonder what he thinks about the quality of Bama's lines versus the quality of ours. The disparity between Bama's d-line and our o-line was like NFL versus community college.

So when the run game gets completely shut down, there's nothing in the GAMEPLAN that can lead to any type of success.
