I have been seeing my neighbors dogs on my food plots several days a week on my game camera's. They are black labs and he just lets them run loose. Every time I pull into my place they run across the road and bark and growl at me and my kids. Last night I pulled my HK out and blasted a couple of rounds their way I got so pissed. I need to talk to the guy. How would the OB handle this situation?

Well not with my HK and certainly not by shooting at his dogs. That's a damn good way to receive return fire.

Talk to neighbor. Tell him the issue. Report the dogs to the proper authorities/ file complaint. At least have some record of attempting to resolve the issue.
If all else fails, do what you gotta do, but do it humanely- not with poison or anything that can lead back to you, and don't make the dog suffer for having a shitty owner.

This is the problem, if you talk with him and he does nothing, then something happened to the dogs, either via you or just an accident, you will get blamed. If you are hunting near the house I assume you are rural, no animal control correct? If you talk with him will he be receptive or do nothing. If he will do nothing, there is no use in talking with him.

First off , dogs cannot read posted signs. Talk to said neighbor, maybe bring him pictures of his dogs in your plots. Its all on him. Shooting his dogs may result in way worse retaliation. Sit down with him and hope he can understand where your coming from. If this doesnt work then frick his wife right in the pussy

Questions:

1. Which way were you shooting? Across the road toward your neighbor's place? Down the road? Where were you aiming? Where your kids with you when you were randomly popping off rounds? That's so dangerous.

2. Why does the model of the pistol matter?

3. If you have already shot at the dogs, why do you think your neighbor will rationally discuss the issue with you?

Sounds like you know the best plan is to talk to the guy, is there some reason you're thinking that won't work?

Shoot them with an beebee gun. Pump that bitch 6-7 times & pop one in the arse. They'll learn quick.

If you talk to him and he is not receptive to your pleas, don't do anything to the dogs. Last thing you want is to piss of the locals. There is no end to what they can do to ruin your property while you're not there. I would either take care of it on your own or talk to him about it, knowing you can't take them out yourself if things don't go the way you want.

#8 from a .20 or rat shot from a .22. That should do it.

Patience may reveal the true cause of your problem, only one reason why lazy biscuit eating labs are on your property is to follow the master...
Relocating a few cameras might catch the master, then you have all you need to give to LE to do your dirty work and avoid long term run ins with trespasser

be a good neighbor....go over and tell him about the "coyote problem" that you are having around your food plots and make it clear that you will be solving the problem with a half-dozen or so old school longspring foot traps...

My experience:
We lived in a semi rural area years ago. A neighbor's Rott started going to my MIL's house and growling at her. she was scared to go out the house.I went and talked to neighbor who said she was keeping her son's dog in a pen but would let it out of the pen to run. I told her what was going on and she said the dog wouldn't bite anyone. I told her I would shoot the dog if it came in Moms yard growling again. I went home called the Sherriff and explained. He said to call in next time. Next day, same thing happened. I called it in then went over there to dispatch the dog but a deputy beat me there. He had his gun out asking where's the dog? Mom said it went back home. Lady had locked it up by then. We filed a complaint. The lady went to court paid a $300 fine, told her son to come get the effed dog. No more problem. That deputy sure wanted to shoot the dog, too!

I talked to the owner of the dogs yesterday. He was real cool and said he was building a large pen for them but in the meantime call him before I head up and he would put them up.
