Why does this only apply to a sole proprietorship?

The owner is suffering a fair amount of abuse for the missteps of one a~~hole employee. Owner did the right thing afterwards and extended an olive branch. Let by-gones be by-gones. I say let's be solid fans and good patrons and remind the world of why Louisianians in general and Tiger fans in particular are known for their hospitality.

I agree. In light of the olive branch, if LSU fans continue the negative social media barage, it will be our fanbase that comes away looking bad--not Harry T's.

if that were true wouldmnt lsu fans be banned at all times, not just when the gator alumni group is there

That's all well and good, but this stuff has been going on 4 yrss if the Vol fan on trip advisory can be believed. Nice guy or not, I gotta believe that nice guy knew all bout the difference in treatment some sports fans were receiving at his place of business compared to how others were being treated.

I am not out to skin him alive, but this idea that a "a stupid employee" did this to him makes me laugh.

we can fault the restaurant's reaction and its policies, but sometimes our fans misbehave.
And give us a bad name.
So, before we get too high and mighty and appalled, let's consider that some of our fans may have played a role in all this...

I'll believe this when one single police report is provided.

Sure he CAN do this. But it's a stupid and arbitrary way to run a business.

Yeah, because LSU fans would never act inappropriately.

This video was week. "To make amends I'm going to do the same thing I do for all the other alumni groups".

"LSU fans can come here Saturday and spend their money, then I'll give half the profits to their alumni group".

Weak! Dumb. Just apologize and say we are welcome back.

Only thing in the video that didn't make me feel worse about Harry T's was "saying" he would donate $2000 to LSU scholarship fund.

They didn't claim LSU fans acted "inappropriately". They said, in writing, that LSU fans "physically attacked" an employee. There is not one legitimate business owner that would stand for an employee getting "physically attacked" without filing a police report. There are many reasons for filing a police report in circumstances like these; the least of which is to protect yourself (as the owner) from potential liability down the road. As I have stated several times....it is my guess, and only a guess, that no police reports were ever filed.

As much as I want to continue to be hateful, I think you are right. If any LSU fans are in Destin this weekend, they should go and SHOW them why Omaha loves LSU fans so much and why USC was so appreciative of the money we raised for them. Go eat and drink and raise money for LSU and if that's the last dime you spend in that restaurant, then at least it was for a good cause.

Here is a dumb question: What do you think Lester Earl's take is on the whole situation and the apology get-together? Has Harry T's done enough to satisfy the situation in question? Will the LSU fan base be able to take this on the chin and continue to be the best followers out there?

I am going to be in Tiger Stadium but I would not go to the event if I were in Destin. His apology is fine and I agree LSU fans should now back off the social media attacks. However, I go to Destin a few times a year and I have no plans to ever spend another dime in the place again. It wasn't that good anyway.

do you honestly trust that the 50% profit and other money will actually go into a scholarship fund? I see no reason to believe them and think that they will follow through with this regardless of the celebration or party or whatever they are doing.. I wouldn't spend a dime there.

If a guy offers a sincere apology I accept the apology. That's how it works. Especially a small business owner who contributes to his community. Time to smile, exchange pleasantries, shake hands and move on.

It's amazing how a few morons can mess it up for others. If story is true and LSU group attacked staff not sure I would won't to eat there anyway as I don't like people who are angry at me or my hat preparing my food even if it is for what a few other idiots did. So it's probably a good thing that they weren't allowed to eat there. IMO

You determined this from a FB post where they use the word "regret" (sure they do with all the bad press and loss of customers) and can't say "we're sorry" or "apologize"? quote:Harry T's has upset many LSU fans and I want to first apologize. Yep, they never used the word apologize.

Having difficulty with reading comprehension still I see, I did not use the word "never". I was referring to the FB post on the previous page where they open with their regrets and the announcement of the free drinks etc. Someone in that FB thread points out they did not apologize, so then AFTER THAT they do. Just like you apparently, they just don't get it, real management skill and understanding.

His wife is from Gueydan.
Apologized and made an offer to help LSU scholarships fund. Move on.

Who knows what happened. It doesn't really matter. I had fun trolling them on Yelp but I'm over it. I'm not going to hold a grudge. I'll go eat there next time I'm in Destin.

I agree. Clearly the owner took to heart what his employee did and is taking genuine steps to right the wrong. Sometimes my employees and managers make boneheaded decisions and I have to eat a bunch of crow, kiss arse, and spend money to make it right. It happens to every business. It's time to accept the apology, and let it rest.

Now...if it happens again...
