That was when David Wright was out and before they acquired Cespedes. But I agree, I think we have a little bit of a mental edge. I go Cubs in 6

Ok dude, it's a stat. Only Cubs fans could get mad over a stat that favors our boys

No one's mad....it's just a stat that means nothing right now.

They are a wild card team playing a division winner...sorry

I'm glad manfred is willing to consider re seeding after the wild card game. I do think winning your division should give you a ticket to the nlds but shouldn't mean you get home field over a team that won more.

Let's go Mets. Murphy was great but every now and then his head wanders. Mets young pitching can carry them but Cespedes needs to hit as well as Duda. By the way, Howard Johnson couldn't hit curve balls.

i really like this matchup. Let's face it, there are a ton of youngsters in this series, but the biggest pressure is going to be on the shoulders of the Met's pitching. Im with you, work the count, get them out of the game early, and get into that bullpen.

I think our young guys will like that they will be facing guys they have came up thru the ranks playing against. Not much of an intimation factor there for the Mets, in my opinion.

This is gonna be a pitching vs hitting series and I'm curious to see which one prevails. Duda needs to get a damn hit. In any case lets go mets!

Seems like the Mets always have a hot hitter

Duda early on
Cespedes when he came over
Granderson and Murphy the last week

Nightmare scenario would be all of them to get hot at once. As long as their are outs in their lineup, I like Cubs in 6 or 7

If Cubs bats cool off the series favors NYM IMO

You're just being overly cautious here. Those guys ARE who we THINK they are.

Verlanderbeast with a post that includes the phrase "the Mets will win" makes me feel good. He makes PJ look like Chad Millman.

Since the Dodgers blew it last night, I'm all about the Cubs the rest of the way.

With all the Mets righties, i'm curious to how Maddon will Coghlan into the lineup. Can you really bench Soler right now?

Hot hitter or not, they are averaging over 5 runs a game in the 2nd half. Pretty sure it was like 3.5 in the first 1/2.

As much as I hated David Ross' bat in the lineup all year, I'm kinda stoked it's him and Lester in Game 1. Those two are built for this situation. I don't see them letting our young-uns get the jitters.

If Duda, Wright, and Yoenis continue to slump, the Cubs win in 6. If they can find any semblance of success at the plate and Murph and Grandy keep doing what they are doing I like the Mets in 7.

I'm so fricking pumped to watch these Mets pitchers square off against this Cub lineup.
